Default Personal Finance Poll of Ledgies

I thought that with all the bailout, market crash, & energy ruckus, we could have a little poll of our personal finances. It's interesting to see what sorts of situations Ledgies are in.

1. About how much do you owe in personal line-of-credit debt? Do you expect to be able to pay it off in decent time?

2. Do you owe on a car loan? Do you lease?

3. Is your mortgage loan a fixed or variable rate?

4. Do you feel stuck in a bad mortgage deal?

5. Do you buy gasoline in the early morning or the evening, believing that since gas expands in the heat of the day, you get more for your dollar when it's cooler?

6. Are you a renter hoping to buy some day? Would you ever sign a mortgage loan with no money (or very little money) down?

7. Do you have medical insurance? Through your employer? Private policy? HMO or PPO?

8. Do you have adequate savings (adequate for a rainy day, for example)?

9. Do you have a retirement account of some sort? 401(k)? IRA? Roth IRA? Annuity? Do you max out contributions or contribute what you can?

10. How often do you eat out?

1. About how much do you owe in personal line-of-credit debt? Do you expect to be able to pay it off in decent time?
About $1,000.00 or so. I pay it off every month.

2. Do you owe on a car loan? Do you lease?
Just paid one off and I will have my second one paid off in Jan.

3. Is your mortgage loan a fixed or variable rate?
Fixed.

4. Do you feel stuck in a bad mortgage deal?
Not at all, I bought down the rate.

5. Do you buy gasoline in the early morning or the evening, believing that since gas expands in the heat of the day, you get more for your dollar when it's cooler?
Evening, just because I usually sleep late and am in a hurry to get to work.

6. Are you a renter hoping to buy some day? Would you ever sign a mortgage loan with no money (or very little money) down?
I had the option of doing a bad mortgage deal and I refused, so no.

7. Do you have medical insurance? Through your employer? Private policy? HMO or PPO?
Yes, through my employer, it is PPO.

8. Do you have adequate savings (adequate for a rainy day, for example)?
I just spent it all on my down payment, so no.

9. Do you have a retirement account of some sort? 401(k)? IRA? Roth IRA? Annuity? Do you max out contributions or contribute what you can?
I contribute what i can.

10. How often do you eat out?
Way too often

Buy it when I need it regardless of time of day

6. Are you a renter hoping to buy some day? Would you ever sign a mortgage loan with no money (or very little money) down?

1. About how much do you owe in personal line-of-credit debt? Do you expect to be able to pay it off in decent time?

Way too much, but pay on it every month

2. Do you owe on a car loan? Do you lease?
Almost paid it all off, as I only have about 6 more payments to go.. yipeee..

3. Is your mortgage loan a fixed or variable rate?
I rent.. so, no mortgage

4. Do you feel stuck in a bad mortgage deal?
Nope.. as I said, I rent an apartment.

5. Do you buy gasoline in the early morning or the evening, believing that since gas expands in the heat of the day, you get more for your dollar when it's cooler?
It varies, as I get it when I need it, and that's usually in the afternoons/ evening.

6. Are you a renter hoping to buy some day? Would you ever sign a mortgage loan with no money (or very little money) down?
Actually, I'm very happy renting an apartment. I don't want to be a home owner, as there's just too much to keep up with.

7. Do you have medical insurance? Through your employer? Private policy? HMO or Private policy.

8. Do you have adequate savings (adequate for a rainy day, for example)?
I'm going to have to say no to this one, as I'm in between jobs right now, and I've just spent a lot of money going through that stupid storm, with different things..

9. Do you have a retirement account of some sort? 401(k)? IRA? Roth IRA? Annuity? Do you max out contributions or contribute what you can?
Yes, I have 2 IRA's

10. How often do you eat out?
Pretty often.

I notice you haven't supplied any answers David. Why do you want to know? Seems a tad personal for me, sorry!

It's much too personal!

It helps me understand how financial circumstances influence political views.

It's pretty personal. I was worried about that before I posted it. But I figured that some Ledgies typically reveal so much about themselves generally, & the others probably wouldn't answer the poll anyway.

However interesting these questions may be, I would rather not reveal such information. I would caution others in revealing as well, but it is not my place to direct what an individual can and can't post. $.02.

p.s. no offense David.
