John McCain "released" his long sought medical records Friday. By most accounts, Senator McCain is in good health. The release of the documents, though, was a wee bit strange.

A small, select group of reporters were chosen. They were picked up at an undisclosed Arizona location, blindfolded, and driven in separate cars to a secure location "somewhere in the Phoenix area". Led into a small room, the still blindfolded reporters were told to spin around five times while repeating the phrases "straight talk" and "my friend" over and over.

On the count of three they removed their blindfolds, finding themselves in a small unfurnished room with 400 pages of McCain's medical records spread randomly across the floor. No cameras or recording devices were allowed. The reporters were allowed access to the documents between 7 and 10AM. All the while the reporters were reviewing the documents, multicolored lights flashed and Stevie Nicks music was played at loud volume.

OK, I made some of that up. But only some of it.
