Default Kiss

I know there are some Kiss fans in here, and I have a question for the diehards. I've become more of a fan in the last year or so, and I know there's the 3 KISSOLOGY packages that are out there. Being a casual fan, is it worth it picking them up? just wondering?

I don´t think Kissology 3 is released yet.

They are value for money.
For a casual fan starting off with a 2 dvd(or 3)set is bit expensive.
I´d suggest trying first Konfidential/X-treme close up,
2 videos on 1 dvd for a price of 1.

Both kissology 1 and 2 are available as 3 dvd set,
each have 3 different versions for bonus discs.
If you decide to buy one, find out first which bonus you prefer.

thank you I apprecaite that advice. I think I'l always be a fan of the live stuff much more than the studio work, so I like that angle of the lvie concert footage Ive seen advertized contained in the kissology dvds.

I fall somewhere in the middle of casual and diehard... Volume 2 is 1978-1991 which in some peoples opinions the best era for the band. Volume 3 is released in a few weeks, and it's 1992-2000 which would include the whole reunion which is cool. Volume 1 is for diehards only.

First time I saw them was 1979 on the Dynasty Tour... which also happens to be favorite Kiss album.

I used to be a diehard fan, after 1985 quite less so.
My favourite period is 1974-84,but
part 3 is the one that holds most interest to me.
It includes Unplugged, which i haven´t seen and desperately want to.
It should include parts that were cut from the program.

A word of warning about part 2
it includes the movie "meets the phantom of the park"
which definitively is for diehards only.
I saw it in a theatre during my biggest craze
and couldn´t say i was impressed even then.

Must say that i´m waiting to see it again,
maybe i can enjoy it as a camp humour now.

Do either of you think there will be eventually a VOLUME 4? I think there is enough out there from 2001-now to do it. Oh and I've listened to the ALIVE! box set with the 3 alive audio cd's along with the 4th disc the Millenium concert, and I really like that. what do you guys think of the alive box set?

No i don´t think there´ll be a Kissology 4
there´s already Alive IV and Rock the nation to cover that period,
plus couple of less authorised releases.

I have Alive and Alive II

Never had any interest for Alive III
and in my circles it´s considered to be possibly the worst Kiss record,
though i do know one guy who thinks it´s their best record.

When the box was released,i recall reading the millennium concert was
somewhat disappointing set.
It was originally considered to be released as Alive IV
until Kiss and the record company run into dispute allegedly over the mixing of the record and it was shelved.

Plus if i´m correct, Rock and roll all nite has been added to Alive II
which is good enough reason to not buy it.
I do like the song itself, but i have it so many times, any reason to not have it again is good enough.
And Alive II is perfect as it originally was.
