Default Oracle Semi-Review

Well, it's SUPER late, and I am tired as hell. My camera is not transferring the pics I took, but rest assured that's what all I'll be working on tomorrow. Funny thing tomorrow. See, I had taken that day off so that I could go to the Cow Palace, and stalk the place out all day in the hopes of a mere glimpse of our witchy one. Instead it seems that the show was Wed night, and all these pompous "F's" (in our favor ofcourse) are scalping their wristbands for a hefty sum on Craigs List. Well, thankfully Deborah catches this and lets me in on it, and we are able to go. For about $75 a pop. Not that weighty I suppose. Thing is, how DUMBASS would I have felt, had she not called me, and I got up @ the butt crack of dawn, and waited there all day?!
It was as posted, no Prince, but Billy Joel & Lenny Kravitz. Oh, and FYI, you had to effin' choose!!!! Yup, 3 different stages, and 3 different acts. Such is life. No way would $75 get you a chance to see all three of those names. Just as well. SN was amazing as usual. 13 song set, including Crahs, which I suppose I am grateful to have heard live, but honestly, it just isn't clicking w/ me. In the boots and tonight, the band sounded like they were playing one song, and Stevie was singing another. Up until the "hike up your skirt and show me the world" line, I was bored. Still, I can say I saw it live, and I am happy w/ that. Mick was there, helping to further rock 3 songs including Rhiannon, Dreams & GDW. The drum set was not his, and I think you could tell. He seemed to play it harder than it could take, and sounded sloppy in some parts. Not Micks fault, just his avid play ethic. There was a little stage error between IAF & Crash, where SN just disappeared for a bit and all the band was like hmm? She comes out and says she is so sorry, she had taped a show a while back, they had just incorporated Crash into the set, and well truthfully, she didn't realize she was supposed to go right into a song minus a set change. She was a little flushed/embarresed, but in an uber cute ONLY SN type of way. Funny.
This crap place, which did NOT look like the Cow Palace, but what would I know, I was only there once 20 years ago. Almost 20 years to the date for my first ever show, happening to be FM. Anyway...This crap place held a bizillion people, and it was hot and crazy inside. Like being in Tokyo. We didn't stop to appreciate the free food & booze cause the lines were crazy and we just wanted to be as close to SN as possible. General admission type style. We started out in like "4" rows back, and by the end, right up front. No brainer no Edge walk. Anyway, a great show. A few variation on like IAF and well, maybe that was all. Minimal, but nice. She sounded great. The uh-uhs for Stand Back. lmao.
Show:
SB
Enchanted
IAF
Crash
Rhiannon
Dreams
GDW
Sorcerer
I Need To Know
Landslide
Intros
Fall From Grace
Edge
R&R

I just posted my review on the Cow Palace thread. I agree about Mick's drumming. He pounded the drums a little bit too much.

We must be that tired, cause both of us opted to abbreviate the setlist. lol. Well, thanks again Deb. Honestly, had it not been for you, I'd have missed this and thought there had been no chance of going, AND would have been freezing my ass off tomorrow, fending off the loonies in that lovely Cow Palace area.
Now, GO TO BED

Mini things I wanted to add. It seems to me that SN gets the final say in what song is played moments b4 th show starts. Hence her Dreams remix, & Booty beat. Last nights show was warmed up w/ the sounds of Missing Person's "Destination Unknows." A personal fav. Thought it was an odd choice, but maybe an ode to the strange early SF days.
Also she wore a wonderful new crystal, or maybe rhinestone, or more likely diamond moon pendant. It wasn't as crescent as her usual sig necklace, but it was really pretty, catching the light frequently during the show.
Lastly, I added the pic of the "girls" cause I've seldom ever captured a remotely decent shot. Fighting w/ the unsual lighting choice this night was murder. It was WEIRD lighting. Almost too "hot" @ times if that makes sense. Nuclear almost. Several of my SN shots or pics of the girls, the lighting either gives them the halo effect or almost demonic dbl exposure. lol.
And wouldn't you know that this would be another show (like Paso Robbles) that you could have brought in a tri-pod, set up for filming, and had a camera w/ a telescope lens that could see Mars and be audio booting the show @ the same time. Tsk. Oh well. There was a film crew going back and forth in the front. Likely filming for Oracle. Maybe one day it's entirety will be seen. Meanwhile SURELY someone must have gotten audio. A lady in front of me (that could not have looked more out of place there) was filming a lot of the songs, and I think taking pics from her recordings. I'd kill to see her pics. On her screen, things looked SO sharp!
I hope these pics find some enjoyment. Cruddy I know. I'll just never be Alicia. Sigh. lol Please do me a big favor and not take them to other boards. If others would like to see, let them come to the Ledge.
