Tom Petty
Howard Jones
Tone Loc
Starship
Joan Jett
Paula Abdul
Ugly Kid Joe
Extreme

early on:
the mamas & the papas
the fifth dimension
the beatles
the beach boys
the monkees
three dog night
the rolling stones

then i tacked on stuff like:
abba
jefferson airplane
the guess who
janis joplin
carole king
the grateful dead
foreigner (heeee)

etc. etc. etc.

my mom is big time into antiques... the majority of my childhood was spent in antique shops, thrift stores, yard sales, tag sales, etc. in order to get me to STFU and stop the "can we go now", she would send me off to look through records and pick out ones that i wanted. other than being able to identify names of artists or songs that i'd heard on oldies radio (thats all daddy ever listened to in the car), i'd just pick out the ones that looked cool. as a result, i have a effing boatload of eclectic records. they range from unbelievably awesome to embarassingly bad.

There you go, posting in code again....

I'm surprised you'd admit it.

For me:
Mamas and the Papas
The Monkees
The Cowsills (ok, when you live in Lebanon you don't have a big selection!
Janis Joplin
Moody Blues
The Beatles
The Dave Clark Five

There's nothing wrong with the Cowsills!

And, I would like to add The Grassroots to my list.

:O

I hadn't heard that! Holy cow.

Not trying to thread jack. But, I'll say that Katrina was just bad all around. I have a lot of people on the gulf, in New Orleans, and such as (the iraq and asia and such as

). That was a really bad time. Plenty of people still aren't back on their feet completely.

Hey there's no shame in some NKOTB love!

Ok. Actually there is. But I loved them too. I had posters, t-shirts, a sweater, buttons, a night shirt, dolls...sigh. Oh how I loved them. They were my first concert.

I listened to my Heart in Motion tape so much that it wore out

I begged my mom to buy me a new one - and she did.

Other than that:

Debbie Gibson
Tiffany
The Beatles (I guess I had some taste at least)
The Jets

Miss Vicky · #11 09-22-2007, 09:21 PM

Deanna and Michelle both New Kids fans?

I don't think I can affiliate myself with either of them anymore.

For shame, ladies. For shame.

('Cause Tone Loc is totally acceptable, y'know)
