Smile Lady From THe Mountain

Hi there - I am new to this site, although I have been a fan of the Mac and Stevie since the 80s. I am going to see her this Friday in Prescott, Arizona ( I live in Sedona and just can't believe she is playing such a small gig). Her previous tours that I have seen are: OSOTM, StrAng, Enc, TISL & GD. I actually got to shake her hand(s) during THE WALK the last three tours/times I have seen her. Ohhh, Those Eyes!!! ANYWAY... This is a question for the Stevie connoisseur's:

When was "Lady From The Mountain" actually written. I only acquired this song in the Fall of 2006. I have always thought it was penned during the TUSK years - but now I wonder as I just got a bootleg called The Coffee Plant Demos - which is some really EARLY stuff. Finding out that Sorceror was written back in the early 70s (Hollywood Days) blew my mind - and in this particular version of Sorceror on this demo CD she is just going to town shouting "LADY FROM THE MOUNTAIN!!!" Is it possible that she wrote LFTM at this time, too (early 70s/pre FM)??? If anyone has any clues, ideas, insights or facts - I would greatly appreciate them.

ALSO, who the HELL are the "Tar People" in the song/demo "Space Needle" (from the Shangra-La outtakes?)

Peace & Love
Jeffrey

I was never really sure about the tar people. If I had to guess I would say it's from a book. Maybe one of the literary types here can shed more light on that.
There are a bunch of different versions of Lady From The Mountain. It could be one of the B/N songs although I don't think any demos of it from that era have surfaced.
She probably offered it up to Fleetwood Mac and they didn't use it. Some of the demos I have heard sound like (judging by her voice) it could be anywhere from '78 right up through the Rock A Little era.

Welcome!

I have no info on the Lady from the Mountain thing, but it's one of my favourite Stevie "themes" or concepts and I love the Coffee Plant Demos disk!
