Default Mansfield - 6/17/07

Well I just got back from College Orientation. I had to get up at 4:45 in the morning after that concert. I want to write this review to get all my thoughts down.

I went to the show with my mom and uncle. We walked into the actual pavillion and Chris came on stage. I love standing in that area right behind sections 4,5, and 6. You get a great view of the whole stage. We met a woman who does the traffic reports for channel 5 news here in Boston, Cindy Cambell. She said she had been going to Stevie concerts since she was in college. For a woman with a high status job, she sure had ****ty seats. And she wore a fanny pack, which made me giggle.

Chris came on and he was pretty cool. I loved his energy on stage. I recognized one of his songs, besides Wicked Game and I thought that was totally cool. Right when my mom and uncle left, Chris made his way through the venue. I got to shake his hand and I was beaming! The rest of his set was pretty great, loved seeing Waddy up there. I could see Lori watching his set with Stevies dog.

I had a 5th row aisle seat and I was nervous about getting to the stage. It turned out great, I had lots of room and a great view. They played some songs from Stevies celebrity playlist during the overtime, Don't Come Around Here No More and Body is a Wonderland are the only ones I remember.

I have to talk about the crowd for a second. This was the best Stevie Nicks crowd I have ever seen. They were loud during all the songs and Stevie really noticed it, especially during Landslide. I was so happy. There were a ton of diehards. The only time people sat was during the Rhiannon piano intro and the GDW intro, but even then 75% of the pit was still up. Im hoping someone recorded this show.

Stand Back - I liked this as an opener I guess, but it went by really quick. I got a wave from Lori here. I was loving it, she was so close. Stevie came out in the usual garb - pants, boots, cape. I was just freaking out so I really didn't get to enjoy it so much. She did the "Standing in a Linnnne" thing too. Great high kick, audience went nuts.

Dreams - One of the few times Ive ever enjoyed Dreams live. She didn't hit the high notes, but it was still a fun song. It was cool here to really look at the band, stage, ect.

If Anyone Falls - I have been wanting to here this song live for 9 years. I was so excited to hear it. It sounded so great. I had to call my cousin here and let him listen. This was one of my favorites of the night.

Rhiannon - Piano intro totally killed the mood. Everyone sat, but when she came out in the Rhiannon top, black skirt (same as white dress) and beige boots everyone went nuts. I really like when the guitar kicks in and that curtain falls on the stage. Really cool image. Average performance.

Enchanted - This one sounded really great live. Its always different when your listening on the bootleg and seeing it live. She played a mean tambo on this one and did a cool move at the end. I think this is one of Carlos' favorites.

Sorcerer - Ehhh. I loved how everyone stood and a lot of people knew the words. But other than that, this one really didn't cut the cheese.

Gold Dust Woman - I was really excited when the cowbell kicked in. For some reason, this was really great that night. It took her forever to come out. She had on different boots, a new top, a new dress, and shawl. I think the thing at the end is too much. I could do without the babies.

I Need to Know - This one had great spunk. As someone else said, ever since she did this one with Tom it has born a new life. I thought this too. She didn't do the yell before the guitar solo, but she really rocked it out. This one was really fun.

Landslide - Ok first she tells Boston that this song is about Lindsey in 2003 and now its about family. Ok Stevie. There were a ton of pictures I had never seen before. Everyone was yelling during this one when they started showing the Rumours era pictures. There were a ton added of her dad. A lot of people were crying. This is when Chris' band came out.

Band Intros - Lori is her best friend, the new keyboardist reminds her of Christine McVie and Bennmont Tench's playing.

How Still my Love - I didn't really get to pay attention to this one because I was trying to get down to the stage. This is when Kristin and Jessie snuck out . The security gaurd was a dumb asshole. He should have known that this was the song that everyone could come down to the stage for. I ended up behind Jessie and this gay guy tried to feel me up. He kept touching me. I told him to back off, I didn't want to make a big stink. He backed off, but I was pissed.

Edge of 17 - Well the people next to me and Jess left so we got to scoot over right against the stage. I had an amp in front of me which I got to lean on. Stevie came shook Jess' hand (YAY! I thought you kept saying you missed her!). Stevie grabbed both my hands and I said "I love you!". What else could I say. I kind of latched on to her left hand for a little, which got some giggles from my family. I love how she danced with the girls and then did some cool spins back to the mic. She really rocked this one out to the end. AWESOME!

Rock and Roll - She really got into it, even did a high kick!

Beauty and the Beast - Same. Yea great, whatever.

It was a great night, I had so much fun. Driving home was not cool at all. My mom was freaking out a bit, but we made it.

Ill be posting pics soon, although they won't be as good as Paula's.
BTW Jessie is my friend from SW.
