Thumbs up Machu Picchu a favorite for New 7 wonders

I know this topic has been mentioned, but July 7, 2007 is closer and I just read Machu Picchu is within the top ten most voted wonders for the New 7 wonders:

Athens Acropolis, Chichen Itza pyramids, Roman Colloseum, Eiffel Tower, Chinese great Wall, Machu Picchu, Petra, Pascua Island statues, Stonehenge and Taj Mahal are the top ten, not specific order

I also voted for Neuschwanstein castle, and is still top 20 but not 10

Anyway, of course I definitely voted for Machu Picchu and I hope you all ledgies vote for it too!!

BTW.. I going to Cusco and Machu Picchu for my 3rd time in my life.. on may 26 !!!

Default Pyramids of Giza

Just if you don't know, after careful consideration, the New7Wonders Foundation designates the Pyramids of Giza—the only remaining of the 7 Ancient Wonders of the World—as an Honorary New7Wonders Candidate.

Therefore, you cannot vote for the Pyramids of Giza as part of the New7Wonders campaign.

This decision has also taken into account the views of the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. The Pyramids are a shared world culture and heritage site and deserve their special status as the only Honorary Candidate of the New7Wonders of the World campaign.

They were there during the last episode of Peking Express (Dutch equivalent of the Amazing Race) and I have to admit it looked breathtaking. A friend of mine did an internship in Lima, Peru for a few months last year and she said it was supposed to be magical. She's been trying to get me to go with her to visit ever since. One day...
