Exclamation Fort Worth...aaahhhh!!!!!!!!

It cannot GET much better than Fort Worth, Texas, baby, yeahhhhh!!!!!! The concert WAS taped for the DVD and the guy we asked said it would be around 6 months when it was coming out. So...June or something, I guess.

Bass Hall is frickin' gorgeous, the acoustics were AMAZING and there were NO security people like at all. It was a frickin' free for all!! My tickets were for the 2nd row on the left. Then, about 1/3 of the way through or something, this lady asks the people in the front row on the left side to move into some empty seats in the front row and second row....they obliged. Incidentally, it was #1LiddyBuckFan (Hey Lindsey!!!!!!! WOOOO!!) and her best friend that got to sit front row in the middle. My mom and I moved up into the vacant seats. YEAH!!! The cameraman was all over out side, up and down the aisle, down the front row....in the corner, just everywhere. He took some video of me holding my Lindsey Rules sign. LMAO!! I am so on this frickin' DVD....you will NOT miss me. He did the usual setlist, SMAP included tonight and then Turn It On and Shut Us Down. He messed up a bit on SUD, then started over and went "The illusion's gone." or something like that. BWAH!! I'm sorry, but the balcony people...sucked. Right before GYOW, he points his guitar up there and goes "Get up!" and I look back....yeah, not a soul was standing. I motioned and went "GET UP!!!" Losers. LOL

After the show...we waited out by the car we KNEW he'd have to get into. We waited...and waited...and waited, with me running back and forth to see if we were waiting in the right spot. Finally, they moved the car and drove way out of the way. We went to the back of the venue and some guy from the video people said "He's gone already." Whatever dude. We walked around and I'm all....I am going around the other side. So, I go over there and LO AND BEHOLD, the white car!! I motion for my peeps and they stampede. LOL!! We waited another 20-25 minutes or something maybe and finally, out comes Lindsey and Kristin. He took photos with everyone, signed stuff and was just FRICKIN' AWESOME! Kristin got into the car and waited patiently. Stargazer was there (Hi, Mary!!) and her son/husband were there too. I took a pic of her, her son and Lindsey! It's a terrific pic of them. I'm glad she waited because it was about 11:30PM or so when they finally came out. Show started at 8:30PM and ended maybe 10:30PM...don't quote me on the times though.

He made a comment that he was going to eat at Joe T. Garcia's (famous Mexican food restaurant in Fort Worth) tomorrow and my mom goes "What time!?" He goes "I'm not going to say what time." Hee!!!! I hope that gets left in there, but I doubt it.

Also, right before I'm So Afraid...I screamed out "YES!!!!!" and I pray that gets left in as well...because it was awesome.

I didn't take photos or video. Sorry! I don't really know why...I just wanted to enjoy this special show. Can't wait to see what gets left in and edited out.

Here is my photo with LB!!!!!!!!! He's not looking at my mom, but who cares! Also, Lindsey (the Ledgie, #1LiddyBuckFan) took a pic of me and him...so, when she emails me the pic...I'll post or she can post...or whatever.

AAAHHH...trying to remember details!! LOL OH! NO COWBOY HAT GIRL TONIGHT!!! YESSSSS!!!!!

My life is complete...I have a photo with Lindsey. Heh. OH, I went up to him and said "Lindsey, could I have a photo with you. I've been to like 10,000 shows." and he goes "Sure!" He was in a GREAT mood tonight.

Singer goes his own way in style

FORT WORTH -- When you're essentially a cult artist who has sprung from a mega-selling band, sometimes you have to strike a balance in concert. For Lindsey Buckingham, that tightrope is strung between 30-year-old Fleetwood Mac songs about a relationship gone awry and present-day ones about finding peace in the marriage he's in now.

In his show Saturday night at Bass Hall, Buckingham pulled off the high-wire act and then some, playing several songs off his excellent new CD Under the Skin and his biggies from 1977's Rumours -- Go Your Own Way, Second Hand News, Never Going Back Again -- but also touching on many other aspects of his Fleetwood Mac tenure and his solo career.

The show's best moments came when Buckingham messed with the old stuff. When he pulled out an explosive, eardrum-rewiring guitar solo on I'm So Afraid, he may have risked self-indulgence -- except that he seemed to lose control, becoming possessed by the screaming tones that filled the hall. That was the high point, but it wasn't the only highlight.

Space doesn't permit listing all the examples, but another wild solo to climax Go Your Own Way and a malevolent take on the 1984 solo hit Go Insane, which sounded more like something from a spaghetti Western than the bouncy original, were among the many peaks.

Sometimes playing solo, other times with a band (guitarist Neale Heywood, percussionist Taku Hirano and bassist/keyboardist Brett Tuggle), Buckingham may have shocked anyone who still thinks of Fleetwood Mac as '70s soft-rock.

Rippling through finger-picked guitar runs, modulating his vocals from near-whispers to full-throated bellows, leading the group in the oddball sonic experiments he so loves, Buckingham showed why some people call him visionary even as his opening number Not Too Late indicated that he's uncomfortable with the term.

If the show had a flaw, it was in the momentum-threatening interruptions that occurred because the concert was being filmed for Mark Cuban's HDNet. But even with those minor glitches, Buckingham danced all over the tightrope, when he could have settled for just walking.

Christy, very cute picture! I'm glad you finally got a picture with him. And thanks for keeping the rest of us updated with all the shows. I'm looking forward to the third leg.

Exclamation Hee!

I think he did, in fact, change his shirt...into that button one. One I'd not seen before. That black shirt really does need to die...it's been through the mill. LOL

ETA things I am remembering: When mom and I went up during GYOW, I noticed Lindsey's finger was bloody. I barely touched the guitar...like, we're talking almost phantom-like. LOL He kept teasing us with the rocking back and forth. I couldn't reach it.

I really don't think the people who go to LB shows, who've never seen him before, realize what they are in for. They are thinking a sit-down, "lite-rock" show or something. Then, you hear people after the show go "OMG, that was phenominal." I'm thinking to myself "Duh." LOL

I stood up for SHN, nobody made me sit down...and I noticed only me, Lindsey (#1LiddyBuckFan), her friend and maybe one other lady were standing up on our side.

Nobody yelled out any songs. There was funny banter thoughout the show though. He said Bass Hall was a beautiful theater (OMG, it's gorgeous!) and when talking about Red Rover, he said the whole gods speil...but then looked up and went "Maybe there are gods up there in the clouds right now." because the ceiling in the place has feathers and clouds painted on it.

When talking about UTS...he didn't tell the story like he usually does. He didn't say "Someone I know was having trouble getting from one place to another....yada, yada." He said (Paraphrased) "Within us is the strength to move from one place to another...etc." Can't remember the exact wording, but I did say to my mom "Hey, that's a little different story than usual." He also said something before SUD, but I cannot freakin' remember it!! He explained the song a smidge.

I need help from someone with an amazing memory for detail that was there last night! LOL
