Unbelievably, I had time to sit and watch that in its entirety. Very cool and the clips were ones I've always loved.

I obtained a video of this show years and years ago. One of the most elaborately produced interviews ever! And very fascinating, for the fact that Stevie was obviously deep in her Kolepin haze, drapped in hideous over-the-top late eighties fashion -- the big, poofed up hair, huge dangling earings and jewls. So glad that is over! She takes herself a little to serious here (refering to herself in third person!), and her airy fairy demeanor is not very appealing to me. Gratefully, this isn't the down-to-earth Stevie of today.

I always think that when I see older interviews with Stevie. I'm so glad that she's become a little less serious about herself and more of a *real* person. I thought this was a wonderful clip.

Agreed. Stevie thought her **** didn't stink from 88-91. Christine was probably the only one who stayed down to earth, and possibly John...

it was only to mask her deep insecurities.

That was fantastic. I agree, manny manny great clips all put together. THis was an interesting era wasnt it. What are those shots where she walks through tthe door and spins? Were there, are there lost video clips for alice, and for oo my love?

Very interesting. I am still watching it right now. I don't understand why Stevie would have felt like she was obligated to stay at a party she did not want to be at. She had lost her sense of freedom at this point.
And although there may have been songs where something got lost in translation from demo to final product, I don't think "Gypsy" is one of them. The Bella Donna and Mirage demos of that song are all interesting and worth having, but the finished product was definitely the best. Quote:

Great interview. I like how when shes talking abotu Oscar Wilde that she starts to hint about her drug problem. The part about Lindsey is also great. When shes talking about how she can never remember why they actually broke up. Love all the extra footage. I think all that was for the Two Kinds of Love video. It was a pretty big hit in the UK, probably was shot for that IMO.

It's a pretty fragile facade though. Watching this, I see a woman who has become lost in her own private world and doesn't feel like she has control over her own life (as VK points out). The sense of insularity and sadness is almost suffocating.
Extremely interesting stuff -- thanks for posting!!
