Default Courtney Love's New Book, Hopefully Stevie will write one!

Courtney Love is coming out with a published version of her diaries called "Dirty Blonde: The Diaries of Courtney Love."

Does anyone have more information on this? I've only read a small review of it. There must be some great stevie references..., maybe something about the cover of Gold Dust Woman?

I am also really hoping that Stevie comes out with a book similar to this...I remember hearing something about Stevie doing a similar project, does anyone know if this is coming to fruition or not?

On a related nots, I love Courtney Love. HOLE was one of my favorite concerts ever. (seriously) Tht woman is such a tornado, but it makes for an entertaining concert. I will get her book. Hopefully she will mention stevie alttle bit. Thanx 4 sharing.

Courtney needed the money. Stevie doesn't. I think Courtney's book will be an interesting read.

As much of a train wreck that she may be, I want to read Courtney's book.
However, I have a feeling that she is saving "the goods" for another publication...she needs the money.
Like Cher, she does have the capability to be an incredible actress providing that she has a good role and the right director.
I dont think we have seen the last of Ms Love and all she is capable of.

I wouldn't expect a book from Stevie until a good chunk of her artist friends have passed on. So not for a long, long time.

Courtney Love doesn't need the money, she has kurt Cobain money
Kurt Cobain was the highest grossing dead celebrity this year.

I don't see Stevie writing a book at all.....since Lindsey has a bloodline now that would eventually read all the juicy details of their father's life. If she did write a book, it would leave all that stuff out for the sake of his kids, but that's just me.

Oh no. We have definitely not seen the last of her. And she's looking good these days too.

Yup. Most of the principals will have to have died before she can really tell it like it is. Ohterwise we'll just get the "lite" version.

Her house in NYC was in foreclosure last year, as were some other properties she owned, her car was repossesed and she was "staying with friends." Not to mention she was in trouble with the law and lawyers are expensive. Then she cut some kind of deal to sell a small portion of the Nirvana publishing to an outside party. If I'm not mistaken, she splits the publishing with Krist and Dave as well. She was most definitely broke last year and that is probably when this deal was inked.
Here is a link to an article with some of the details:
http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/78642004.htm

And she had to sue to get the publishing rights for Nirvana about five years ago:

Courtney Love Sued By Her Lawyers
October 28, 2005 06:27:49 GMT
by Peter Rooley

Troubled rocker Courtney Love can't clean herself up just like that as she's facing another legal trouble brought to the court by Seattle law firm Hendricks & Lewis. Per MTV.com, the Hendricks & Lewis is suing Love for failing to pay her more than $340,000 debt which she should pay to the firm for work they did in securing publishing rights and other materials from husband Kurt Cobain and band Nirvana.

In details, Hendricks & Lewis claim they were responsible for getting more than $7 million in advances for Love, $4 million for Nirvana's 2002 greatest hits CD and another $3.3 million for Cobain's journals, but when they asked to be paid, Love allegedly said that she didn't have money to do that. The law firm also named Love and Cobain's daughter, Frances Bean Cobain in the suit and is seeking a legal claim on all of Love's papers in their possession, which include material belonging to the late Cobain.

I should add that young bands who are naive to how the publishing end of the music business work often get ****ty deals for their first record. No one could have known that Niravana's first record would explode the way it did and change the direction of the music industry completely in the 90's. So my guess is that whilst Nirvana was "waltzing through stardom" they were definitely not missing what they were losing. It didn't really sink in until after Kurt was gone that the big ride was over. And then everyone had time to think with some clarity about how they got a not so great deal for that first record. Who knows if they even bothered to renogotiate for their second record? Then there was the Unplugged record and then he was gone. It all happened so fast. Courtney is, IMO bat**** crazy but in some ways I've got to feel sorry for her. She's had one hell of a ride. Like I said before, the book should be pretty interesting. And Courtney's not the type to hold back. She'll step on a few toes.

I haven't read through it all yet. It's more like a collage of her diary entries/pics/interesting documents from childhood on, I'm sure there's some references in there too though. I bought the book at a bookstore in Pasadena that Courtney was doing a book signing at, got the book signed and go to meet Courtney.

Courtney doesn't need the money either. She recently sold 25% of Nirvana's publishing rights for a reported $50 million last month.

And if you had read my post above you would see that I said this deal was probably inked prior to that. It takes a while to write (and probably have help from a ghost writer) a book. She was most definitely broke last year. Again, her houses were in foreclosure, her car was repo'd, etc. If you don't believe me just do a Google search on it. There was a good deal of press on it then.
She doesn't need the money now is a true statement.

I thought she said she'd write it when everyone was old and wouldn't care anymore. It shouldn't be too much longer based on that comment.
