i'm now pretty much obsessed. dwight makes me laugh uncontrollably. how about the episode on thursday?? "i don't know how we did it but we did it." priceless. very smart writing and a really amazing cast -- especially considering most of them were unknowns until this series.

I totally adore this show - and I'm also a total Pam/Jim shipper.

Dwight's hilarious - loved when they were staking out the house, he hands Michael some Gatorade, "Here, replenish your fluids." Doesn't sound funny when I post it here, but it was just so Dwight. I was drinking Gatorade yesterday and kept saying it to myself.

I loved the way they shot the whole march to the front door. You can only see Dwight from behind and he looks so ominous in his trench coat but you don't know who he is. Then, finally at the door he turns around and it's him. The hair alone is enough to make you laugh!

I'm a way bigger fan of the BBC version, and did not want to watch the US version after I tuned into the first episode and it was a word by word ripoff of one of the episodes of the British series. Just recently, I've been catching up on them and am now in the middle of Season 2. I really started appreciating it more when they came into their own and there was less material from the UK series. They're fundamentally different now, and though I will always prefer the British version, but I'm really enjoying these episodes. I guess to me the key difference between the shows is the pain factor. The BBC episodes are SO PAINFUL TO WATCH. I mean, it HURTS. It's not so much funny as it is HORRIBLE to watch. It's awkward and uncomfortable and my boyfriend refuses to watch more than one episode at a time because he can't handle it. Steve Carell is so goofy and over the top that it's very clearly a comedy. There's still an OW factor, but it's not the same.

There are things about the new version I do really like, though. Jim is a really great character and John Krakowski is adorable. I still love Tim the best (seriously- naming the US version of Tim JIM ?)... Dwight is great but is just too much for me sometimes. Gareth in the UK version seems so much more plausible to me. I don't think anyone works with anyone as crazy as Dwight. The Jim/Pam romance is so much better than the Tim/Dawn.

I just watched the episode "The Secret" which was the one where Michael tells the whole office about Jim's crush on Pam. Dwight's stalking of Oscar to see if he was really sick had me howling, as the guy I sit next to every day is obsessed with whether or not people are ACTUALLY SICK ! and will literally refuse to speak to someone for at least a week if they dare take a sick day or personal day.

Love love love this show. My favorite is the gay ep earlier this year. When Jim told Dwight & Michael that there's a gaydar machine & they could buy it at Brookstone? I almost peed my pants laughing.

Love Jim & Pam.

Great episode! It was so politically incorrect you were almost ashamed to laugh. But I did! And when Dwight used the gaydar machine Jim sent him and it went off on himself...priceless!

I love all of Jim's practical jokes on Dwight - the one last week was good - the faxes from the future on Dwight's stationary.

And the time they put Dwight's wallet in the vending machine. Classic.

I took me a long time to get into the American version, but now I practically live for it.

I caught part of the Brit version this weekend and it really is terribly uncomfortable to watch. The manager's boss is telling him to cut redundancies. He says he has. She asks where. He says he's laid people off. She asks who. He says "Judy" or some random name. She asks, "what surname?" He says "....SEithoyeyem" or some other made up name. Cuz he's totally lying.
