Lightbulb Christy's Chicago Review or How I Got Thrown Out of the Wednesday show

O.M.G. First of all...it was AWESOME to meet everyone that I did at the shows...Pattie, Nancy, Kristin, Tiffany, Bree, Kathy and Julie. You are all so nice and sweet and thanks for the (cramped and crazy) ride that night, you guys. There were some lurkers at the show too...HI to you!!

Secondly...I am just writing about things that pop into my head...free association here folks.

Tuesday's show: He did the same setlist as the few shows before..with SMAP and Bleed to Love Her. It was a good show and I was on the right side of the stage...front row (if you can really call it that...the setup for Park West was odd. There were long tables in front...very strange) I took my Lindsey Rules sign and held it up on and off throughout the show. He comes over during one of the songs and sees it..and makes a face like "Hee!" Julie held up her painting and the look on his face was PRICELESS. It was kind of like "What the...is that?" LOL!! I didn't take any pictures that first night because the security jerkface/douchebag/loser told us that if they caught us, we'd get thrown out. Sorry guys. I didn't get to play his guitar because I wanted Julie to get up there and do it and also....I couldn't really reach comfortably anyways. There were a couple of songs where I couldn't hear his vocals too well and the music was too loud...drowning him out...Under the Skin and Castaway Dreams I remember being that way. Still loved them both. I'll be honest in that this show....something was wrong with me. It was an AWESOME SHOW, but I was depressed or something...didn't enjoy it like I should have. Not sure why. After the show...Lindsey came out the front door and signed autographs. Me being a dumba$$, forgot to bring my UTS cover or anything...what was I thinking?!?! I took a very dark video...you can barely tell anything. Boo. Tried to take pics, but it was dark and I couldn't see him in the crowd well enough.

Wednesday's show: I had the headache from hell during the show, unfortunately. Didn't feel 100%, but still enjoyed the show IMMENSELY. It was MUCH, MUCH better than Tuesday's show. Same setlist as the night before. He was more playful with the audience and I had a better seat on the left side. Sound was better and he was ON, folks. He sang Go Insane like he was possessed and I cried during Red Rover. ISA was much better this night too. There was some heckler in the crowd who said "Tell them about the sock drawer!" and Lindsey goes "What? Sock drawer? Neale, what's in the sock drawer?" and Neale went "Apparently not socks." BWAH! Then, Lindsey goes "I don't know about that one...I'll have to think about that. Sounds kind of lewd to me." LMAO! Another jerkface said "Where's Stevie?!" I turned around in the direction I heard it and just gave a dirty look. Julie's daughter yelled out "My mom wants to touch your hair!" and he goes "You wanna touch my hair? Maybe later...but not that much later." ROTFLMAO!! I told you he was more playful tonight. Some lady gave him a couple of scarves. One was like..knitted and he put it on and did SMAP and Bleed to Love Her. The other scarf was silk or something and he wiped his face with it and I think Neale or someone said "Just like Elvis." Hee!! After this show though, he and the band went out the side instead of the front and nobody got an autograph or anything. Someone yelled "Can you play Bwana?!" and he goes "Ummm....I don't know. If the band wants to, I guess so. I'll ask them when they come out." I start chanting "Bwana! Bwana! Bwana!" Hehe. They didn't do it though.

You're probably wondering about the latter subject title. Here's the story. I decided to try to take pictures at Wednesday's show. I saw other people with cameras, so why not. I wait until Tusk to do so since everyone made their way to the front row. I looked behind me and there are people standing behind me, so I thought I was okay and couldn't really be seen. I put the camera on the stage and pointed is upwards and took some video of Tusk. When you see it, you'll go "So, that's why it's at an angle." LOL I took a couple of pictures and then, during GYOW, I waited until he came over to our side for the Guitar Fondling and took some video of me and some of the other girls playing the guitar. I took maybe 1 more pic and security jerkface/douchebag/loser comes up to me and grabs my camera (well, tries to) and says "You'll have to check in the camera." I go "I swear I'll put it away." He kept shaking his head and told me to go with him. I follow him to the lobby and he says something to this huge security dude and HE takes me aside and points to the sign saying No Photography/No Recordings and I go "Okay, I'll put it away, I swear." and the douche says over his shoulder walking away "I warned her yesterday." and giant dude goes "He warned you yesterday. How many photos did you take?" I go "A couple (lie)." He goes "When did you start taking them?" I said "During GYOW (lie!). I swear to God, I'll put the camera away. I just wanna finish the show." He goes "How many pictures did you take yesterday?" I said "None. (Not a lie)" and I said "Please, can I just finish the show?" and put the camera in my purse. He let me back in. What in the living h*ll?! Seriously! The sign said Per the artist's request...no photographs/no recordings/no video. I'm sorry, but that is BS. The other venues before Chicago allowed photos and in one city, they said as long as you didn't use a flash, it was fine. They were soooo jerky about the frickin' cameras. Anyway...I got some crappy pics and some EXCELLENT video. BITE ME, DOUCHE!

Non-concert stuff: Chicago was frustrating. I missed my flight this morning because I got on the wrong bus....twice. Didn't get home till 4PM, when I should have been home at like 2PM. The ride home was the most turbulent flight I've ever been on. It's VERY windy here today. Thank God I'm off the frickin' plane. It rained all day Thursday when I took the train to Joliet to go see the Prison Break prison. THAT was awesome! I can't wait to watch the credits and the first season again to see what I remember. Took the trolley ride around town Wednesday (when it was sunny and pretty) and went up in the Hancock Building to look out. Saw Buckingham Fountain (Julie...I didn't get to see it lit up. It was late when I got back from Joliet, due to not wanting to get out of bed that morning and I was soooo tired, wet and miserable. I just wanted to take a shower and go to bed. Maybe I'll see it next time I go to Chicago. I went to Navy Pier, but got there too late to see much. Had a deep dish pizza at Navy Pier, but it was crap. Oh well, at least I ate it in Chicago. I also had a SuperDawg at the airport...eh, nothing special really. Ate at McDonald's twice on Tuesday...but only due to convenience...nothing more. I'm still mad I ate it at all.

Anyway...I LOVED hearing I Know I'm Not Wrong, Holiday Road, Red Rover, ISA in its new form, Under the Skin, Castaway Dreams and Go Insane (first time I'd ever seen it live!).

Here are a few pics of Lindsey on Tuesday and Wednesday going into the venue. They look like paparazzi pics, but it was just that the sun was in his eyes. The first one was taken Tuesday..the others..Wed.
