Default Drive-By Truckers

I went to the "Hardly Strictly Bluegrass" festival at Golden Gate Park yesterday. It's the annual free festival that used to be entirely bluegrass, but now a mix of roots, americana, bluegrass.

The highlight for me was the Drive By Truckers. I had heard of them, but never listened to any of their stuff. They were FIERCE. Raw, southern rock. And a woman bassist -- I loved that.

Anyone a fan? I'd love to learn more about them. Which I know I can do through google, but would rather hear from a fan.

I really like them. I have their latest CD, A Blessing and A Curse. It is excellent. You should check it out. I haven't seen them in person, though, but I would love to. Lucky you!!!!!

Is that really difficult to do? DO they have a pretty small setup?

Oh, it's not bad. Gotta have good ears, and know your frequencies(so when you hear feedback, you know what to change on the EQs). It takes a year or so to really get good at it(troubleshooting and the like).
DBT- I don't remember a whole lot from last year, only that I think they had 3 or more guitar players.

My friend Christine went to that festival this weekend...

Drive By Truckers are great, aren't they? I'll be seeing them in New Orleans at the Voodoo Music Experience in a couple weeks. They're also playing at Tipitina's one night that weekend.
