Default Sturgis Review?

Livia? You're great at bringing us all the journalist's reviews. I can't find any. I'm dying to know how our girl made out with all them bad bikers.

So far, this is the only review up at the petty site:

"What a great day yesterday was. We got to the venue shortly after 1:00 thinking we were going to be sitting at the gates in the heat all afternoon, but instead found that the gates were already open. We walked in and claimed our spot right up in front on Mike's side.

We spent most of the afternoon trying to stay cool and out of the sun while getting to know the other people around us. The venue's cheif of security came up during the afternoon and bs'ed with us for a while and told all the security guys to watch our backs all night since we had got there that early in the day. This was by far the nicest group of security guys I have ever run into. I had forgot my camera in my car, so they called up to the gate for me so I could go back out to my car to get it.

Finally, after 3 1/2 hours in the hot sun, the show started and the Georgia Satellite were fairly good, even though I only knew a couple songs. Foghat came on next and put on a fairly good set. They were very enjoyable to watch on stage. Joe Cocker was next. I can't even begin to say how much I enjoyed Joe's set. I would love to see him opening up for more Petty shows. Hearing him do "You Are So Beautiful" almost brought tears to my eyes from all the emotion he put into the song.

Finally, Tom and the boys made it on. They put on a great show, but seemed a little on the short side. "Free Fallin" had to be the highlite of the night when Tom started out with the wrong lyrics and then started the song over. Seeing the rest of the band cracking up during that was hilarious. It was pretty much the same set that they have been doing with all the shows that Stevie has been at. I managed to take some great pictures during the show and will be posting them on the net once I get home and on a decent comp.

I was so impressed with Glencoe for this show. With it being the first year of shows out there, I wasn't sure what to expect, but almost everything was great. Security was watching our backs all day long and during Petty, we had one girl that was trying to push her way towards the front, but one of the guys came up and told her to stop and that "there was no way she was getting up front". Later she got pushy again and then was told she had to move back into the crowd. Only flaw to the night was the dark parking lot and everyone wandering around trying to find their vehicles, but it was something really minor and, in the end, just added to the fun of the night.

I hope this isn't the last time we see Tom at Sturgis."

^^ That sounds pretty good. Funny about Tom singing the wrong words. I hope that got recorded. I would love to see a boot of this show. I can't wait until the pictures. I won't be hearing from the few friends of mine that went until they get back, which won't be for at least a couple of weeks, they're taking a cross country ride on their bikes, heading out to the west coast first before they head home. They're not real big into Stevie but do acknowledge my fondness for her, so I hope they give me some sort of feed back. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for posting that.

I'm sure Stevie rode in on a big Harley hog.

I haven't seen anything from the press yet - I'm about to post an article re: the upcoming Saratoga Springs show...
