Default Reckless Neglect - And now Kim Jong Il has Nuclear Weapons

Please sign this petition so we can let the Republican "leadership" know we want to hold this administration, and if not them then the rubber stamp republicans, accountable for failed leadership in N. Korea. From tedkennedy.com (but don't let that stop you, lol):
The chaos and violence sweeping the Middle East make clear that the world is a dangerous place. We cannot afford to be distracted by ideological adventures when real dangers continue to go unaddressed. The longer this administration fails to lead, the more dangerous the world becomes -- for all of us.

When North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il launched his missiles earlier this month to flaunt his country's military capability, yet another aspect of President Bush's failed and dangerous foreign policy crashed to earth in Washington.

When Democrats held the White House under President Clinton, North Koreans had no nuclear weapons. Now they do. Friends and allies offered to work with President Bush and his White House aides to keep that from happening. But Republicans -- out of zeal to prove Democrats wrong -- turned those offers down.

Now we have no good choices. White House policies have hurt our security and endangered our allies. Republicans in Congress remain silent. But we need answers.

Join me, and tell Republican leaders in the Senate to hold the White House accountable for its failed leadership on North Korea:

Rubber-stamping the policy of a failed president has high costs that rise higher every day. Republican leaders let the White House have its way: insulting key allies, rejecting talks, and doing nothing to block North Korea's nuclear ambitions. Now we reap a bitter harvest: a loose-cannon dictator armed with missiles, and threatening close allies we depend on, such as Japan and South Korea.

Republicans in Congress could have nudged President Bush onto a different track. But they didn't. They had the power to ask tough questions. But they wouldn't. They could have told the President that working with allies could get better results -- but every time, Republican leaders never missed the opportunity to miss the opportunity.

You and I have had enough. It's time to end this era of rubber-stamp see-no-evil Republican Congresses. We face too many challenges overseas and at home to put up with any more Republican neglect and failed leadership.

Tell Republican leaders you want action -- and that if they don't hold the White House accountable for its failed leadership, the American people will hold the Republican Party accountable. Join me and send that message:

We can't afford to go on this way under a do-nothing Republican Congress. The elected representatives of the people should be demanding that this administration explain its decisions and holding it accountable for all its mistakes.

But the current Republican Congress can't be trusted to do that. It can't be trusted to keep us safe.

We need better leadership in Congress, and the voters can provide it in November.

But in the days and weeks ahead, we need to speak out loudly and clearly that action must be taken right now to refocus our priorities on the real threats to America. Join me and send that message:

Sincerely,

Senator Edward M. Kennedy

I would no doubt sign this, if not for the last time I signed a Ted Kennedy petition. I signed the Wildlife Refuge thing over a year ago, and they still sends me huge packets of crap all the time! I'll just be a supporter in heart.
