Default Vacation!!

OK, (in case anyone will be missing me...)
Just wanted to share with you all that I am headed up into the lovely woods of Northern Maine to hang out by the lake for a few weeks.
And, No Paula, and Mari...there is NO camping involved!! (Oh how I HATE to camp..)
There is no computer and not even TV reception, for that matter-so I will be out of touch with my Ledge friends

Anyway we have a lovely little camp by the water on a rather quiet and isolated lake.
Bringing the Dog, some books, and a fresh new journal..let's hope I can be somewhat productive
in my seculusion, and use up a little restless creativity! My husband will be joining me in a few weeks and then we'll have our vacation together. (I am a Secretary at an Elementary school, so I have July and part of August off...whoo-whoo)

Wish me well, and say a prayer that the bears and moose stay far enough away,
so I can take a picture, but not kiss em'....hee-hee

How about everyone else? What are your plans for the summer??
Everyone be well and safe!!
always,
~~eclipse~~
(big plus ...there is a full moon Monday the 10th and the weather is suppossed to be nice...
always great to stare, dream and wish, while under a full moon- At least I think so-don't cha'?

That? Sounds fantastic! I've never been to Maine, always wanted to go. One of these days....

Default Reading-writing and No math!

I am trying to be somewhat lofty and bringing the Complete Works of Shakespeare, (I can never read "Taming of the Shrew" or "The Tempest" or "Romeo and Juliet", for that matter, enough..along with Complete works of Poe, so I can sing Annabelle Lee
Both have been sitting in my bookcase collecting dust...so I will open those both up.
On the lighter side (although the above isn't like War and Peace) , but I am bringing a few David Baldacci' novels, and a novel namesd "Grandmaster" that my Mom recommended. Some Vanity Fair magazines...(I know, but I have my weak points and I just love reading fashion/gossip/who's doing what...) Plus, I just HAVE to know what shirt/blouse combo to wear in the woods of Maine

Nothing all that interesting but it should be entertaining. and not completely mindless

And Paula I am not picking up the Weekly Enquirer or STAR, as I know you would (kidding)!!
And David, bless your mind- I can't even imagine what you would take along??
but thanks for asking

I recommend the Riverside edition ... with the great Harvard group like G. Blakemore Evans & Harry Levin (my idol) writing the prefaces.

On vacation/traveling, I bring the Wilbur Shortz editions of NYT crossword puzzles, plus usually a couple of paperbacks of detection mysteries.

I think the Riverside edition might be too cumbersome to take on vacation! Also, I am a NYT crossword puzzle addict, although I can usually only get through Wednesday's, as they increase in difficulty throughout the week.

Eclipse - enjoy your vacation! I know I can't wait for mine.

Default I am back!!

Hello all my Ledge friends...
I am back from myself- impossed " Exile to Maine"...

The weather was fabulous, spent all my time swimming (with the dog, who can I tell ya..just loves to swim!! ). Laying in the sun (yes sunscreen was applied)..how I hate that stuff, but with my lilly white Irish ancestory, it's a given...
Read some light Novels, but didn't attempt the more classical and educational material I brought with me...
Hey, it's summer....right?
However, I did spend hours "thinking some lofty thoughts, you know me and that restless creativity that overcomes me when I am alone."..does that count David?

Anyway it is good to be back. I'll check the threads tomorrow and see what scoops, I have been missing.
