Hmm. I'd love to see Stevie sing No Doubt. I can see her giving the Silver Springs treatment to Don't Speak, or rocking out to Hella Good.

Wouldn't that be funny?!?!?!

Since seeing Maddie twice, I am on SUCH a Madonna kick. Last night, I saw the DW dvd, and although I thought there was WAY too many ballads in the set, it was still a good show. Hub starts in w/ me (he's a huge Madonna fan) that if I am gonna follow a singer around, why am I wasting my time w/ Stevie. Dumbass. What can be said is that Madonna gives a SHOW. A sort of play/concert/art 2 hours. Stevie is so special to me, that I could listen to her reading the obits., but w/ Madonna there is no denying that it's your money's worth in a high end production. I'd prolly have seen her a few more times if tix weren't in the $300 price range. And for $100...typical of SN shows, I was getting no where near the floor area. It didn't really matter, but I would see her again closer to stage.

If SN did any Madonna songs...she'd have to sing ballads. Stevie can rock out, but IMO, can't "funk" out, which many of Mad's songs have a funk feel to them. Vice versa, if Mad were to do any SN songs, I'd say the same thing. She wouldn't attain the "soul" or poeticness of an SN ballad, but could prolly tweak out Stand Back or EO17.

Besides that I think the idea of Stevie doing an entire tribute concert of songs by an other artist, especially one that came after her, to be a little silly, I could come up with two songs that I'd recommend for her to cover.

Since you suggested Madonna tunes, there's one called 'Rain', which she surely would like. It's one of her more melodious songs.

Plus, I could imagine her doing the Robbie Williams song 'Angels' pretty well, too.

Most of all, she needs to enjoy a song lyrically, to pick it for a cover version...
I don't think that would be the case with most of Madonna's more rhythmical/visual stuff.

I can sooooooo see her singing:

"I came from the people
They need to adore me
So Chistian Dior me
Anything Goes

I need to the thrilling
I need to be RAINBOW HIGH
in magical colors

Your not decorating a girl for a night on the town
and I'm not some second rate queen getting kicks with a crown"

I am lovin No Doubt at the moment for some reason. Imagine Stevie doing "Running" in 'Sara-mode'...that would rock.

I'd also like to see her do "Left Outside Alone" by Anastacia.

Madonna-Britney kiss angers Stevie

By NUI TE KOHA
Herald sun, 19 September 2003

STEVIE Nicks rates the notorious Madonna-Britney kiss as the most obnoxious television moment ever.

"First of all, Madonna is too old to be kissing someone who is 22," the Fleetwood Mac singer told the Herald Sun.
"And Britney should be smarter than that. Hopefully, she will figure a way out of this hole she has dug for herself."

Original rock chick Nicks, 55, said Spears and Christina Aguilera should wear more clothes and try writing decent songs.

"I personally have never been to a strip club, but I turn on MTV and see in every single video what it must be like to be at a strip club," Nicks said.

"I think the mystery is gone, and if you have no mystery, then you aren't even sexy.

"Real sexuality and sensuality is in the music, and all these girls, vis-a-vis, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and on and on, should go back to writing songs and start over because it won't last and they won't last.

"When they are 55, they won't be around and that's sad because I think a lot of those girls are very talented. But they are signing their own death warrants."

Nicks was appalled by Madonna's publicity stunt kiss with Spears at the recent MTV Awards.

"I thought it was the most obnoxious moment in television history," she said.

"Madonna will be fine. Madonna is Madonna. She does what she wants. She will get over this. But will Britney get over it? I don't know."

Nicks revealed Madonna asked Jennifer Lopez to be in the smoochy routine, but J.Lo told Madge to kiss something else.

Nicks is the ultimate rock survivor, weathering drug addictions, depression and a tumultuous relationship with Lindsey Buckingham.

Fleetwood Mac performs at Rod Laver Arena on February 23. Tickets go on sale on Monday.

I think Stevie would be cute singing Madonna's "Dress You Up (in my love)."
