Default Unsolved Mysteries: The Stevie Nicks Edition

So, I have a question. Maybe there's an obvious answer, but if there is, I surely don't know it. An unsolved mystery, Stevie style.

In Stevie's Storytellers episode where she tells the story behind "Edge of Seventeen", she starts out by saying something to the effect of...

...then John Lennon died... and I was in Australia with... {and she almost lets it slip here... but she catches herself, recovers and says}... with, hanging out, doing something, playing with some band....

Like she can't remember who she was with. Yeah, right Stevie, you know who you were with, so why don't you tell us? What's the big secret?

Does anybody know? I figure it must have been her boyfriend at the time, but I'm not that good with her boyfriend dates. Who was she with in December 1980 when Lennon died? I'm inclined to think it was someone else who is a performer, since she said, "playing with some band...." this was after the Tusk tour and before Bella Donna was recorded.

Anybody have any ideas? Any bootleg Australian guest appearance concerts circulating out there from Dec '80? Can any of our Aussie ledgies help out? Who was touring Australia around that time period that Little Miss Stevie Nicks would have been hanging on to?

Any other unsolved mysteries you are curious about - feel free to ask here.

PS - Stevie, write your damn book already. Everyone is too old to care NOW! Don't let the long nets of white cloud your memory. You won't hurt anyone and we will love it! Write it before (God forbid - you leave this planet - and {horrifying thought} Chris Nicks writes it for you.)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall Stevie showing up and performing at at few Bob Dylan concerts in Aus. -- at that time he was using Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers as his band! She got into trouble because she didn't have a proper work visa. She has talked about the event in the past, mentioning how excited she was to sing with Bob Dylan. There's a recording floating around of them singing "Knocking on Heaven's Door."

Wasn't Fleetwood Mac still doing the Tusk tour??? But that doesn't make any sense because if they were she would've said so. You know what? I have no idea. It could've been anybody. Sorry

It's just Stevie being Stevie...

A little sheepish, if you know what I mean
Maybe it would draw out questions...or maybe she was just buzzed and didn't want to relay details of where and when and with who...
She loves to be mysterious as well as spacey

...is my guess

Paul Fishkin, I guess.

I didn't know about an Australian trip at this time, but I knew of a trip to South America (Argentina or Chile) at this time--to sort of recharge her batteries, to hear her tell it (& I think she has mentioned this trip only once in interview).

I know she was also back in the United States when her own uncle died, whenever that was, because she has talked about visiting him in the hospital & even of being with him when he died.

Mick still owned real estate in Australia in December 1980. It's possible she went to see him or stay with him, & maybe the music stuff she says she did was with him & his circle.

No, but somebody already pointed out that Stevie's trip to Australia with Dylan & Petty was in February 1986. The time frame we're talking about here is December 1980.
