Default My Final Mansfield 06/21/2006 Photos

I bet that you are all glad that I am done. I guess that my next chance to take any photos will be at one of Lindsey's upcoming shows this fall. Ha, just wanted to see if you were paying attention!

She probably sliced open her hand banging away on that tambo, during her backup stint.

And yes... Really great shots Pattie... You were a busy girl!

Thanks. I got a new camera. I just got it a few weeks ago and I really have not used it much. I took it to the park a few weeks ago and I was not that happy with the way the photos came out but it seems to do a great job for the concert photos so I guess that I am keeping it. I don't have a choice anyway. I just wish that I could fix the areas where her face is overexposed.

My dream is to find the perfect small camera that takes excellent concert photos even from 10 rows back. This comes close but I still would rather have something smaller.

As for that glove I have no idea.

If you have Photoshop, playing with the "curves" feature might help a bit. Sometimes if the lighting just sucks there's not much you can do to improve it though. I think they turned out well regardless, and you got some nice ones where her face is clear too.

Yeah, I don't think any consumer digital point-and-shoot type model will ever be perfect, especially in a concert setting and from a distance of 10 rows or more. But until they start letting us take SLR's in... I think you found a pretty good one!

I have Photoshop Elements and I don't think that I have a "curves" option. I tried a few things but she ended up looking ill so I reversed them.

I was surprised how lenient security was with cameras. I saw one guy pull out a 12x optical Kodak camera and he asked if that was OK. Security said that it was fine so I whipped mine out ASAP. The only think that was not allowed was video and I did not even try it.

Kodak now has a small 10X optical 6 megapixal camera. I have not read any reviews for it yet. It is about $450.00. I do plan on getting a digital SLR by the end of the year.

You've taken some great pics over the years but these are your best. Holy sh*t. I hate myself for missing this.

Me too Pattie and I can't wait! Especially after my trip to Africa and seeing the very big difference between my digital pics and the film pics from my SLR.

What kind of camera did you end up getting??? I've been eyeing a new panasonic one with a 10X zoom that is pretty small compared to others....... it got decent reviews but not perfect........ I'm on the neverending quest for the perfect camera!! ha ha One week I'll be looking at one and then the next week I'll be looking at something totally different......... I haven't broke down and gotten a new one yet. It seems like they are continuously coming out with new and better all of the time though........

I got the Panasonic DMC-TZ1 and you are right it is small for a 10x optical zoom. I was not too pleased with the photos that I took at the park a few weeks ago but then again I did not know how to use it. I was very satisfied with the concert photos that I got, however. This was only my second time using the camera. I am sure that if I practiced that I would get some better shots. The one big draw back about this camera is that it does not have any viewfinder just an LCD screen. If you are out shooting on a sunny day good luck trying to see the image. Kodak now has a 10x optical zoom camera that seems to be small. I have not seen it in person and I have not read any reviews yet but it sounds promising.
