Default Gold and Braid/Golden Braid

On the enchanted boxsett, this song is titled 'Gold and Braid' but on the White Wing Dove tour video, it is titled 'Golden Braid' - which is correct and how did the mix up occur?

"Gold & Braid" is the correct title. Just say the two titles out loud and you can easily tell how the "mix up" happened. Somebody obviously didn't SEE the title of the song written out...you can tell they got the information verbally.

Ok. But why does she sing "her eyes, her mystery..." when the lyrics are written as "her life, her mystery...". Is she messin' with us?

There are a few additional lyrics on the demos to that song. She says something about in the eye of the strom there is lightening - or something like that. I think this is another example of La Nicks changing it up on stage with unused or rarely used lyrics.

From the time you record a demo of a song to the time you perform it in front of tons of people night after night, things can change. You may start singing things that are easier to pronounce. Or something just seems better after the hundredth time you perform the song. I always liked that she changes lyrics over time. My favorite was "Creature of the night it's been just about two weeks" in Outside the Rain on Red Rocks. I thought it was kind of fun that after several years of "just about a week" it became two weeks.

god how I love this song...with either title. any time I want to show someone what Stevie is capable of...in terms of sex appeal, vocal performance or how she can demand a stage, this is what I play.

I think I'll go sing it now...and toss my tambourine.
