I just got myself a new lap top with a DVD burner.
How do I burn AVI files or other files to a DVD to watch on my stand alone DVD player. Is there a specal program I need, or is it a long process. From what I read its a hard process. I though you ledges would have some tricks. Thanks in advance Alison |

hi,
you will need a program called Nero Burning Rom. There are many programs you can buy but i find this one very good. The wizard will help you through burning your DVD's. If your DVD player is a DivX or Avi player you are of to a flyer because these can automatically play avi files without you having to manually convert the file to DVD format. To convert an avi file to DVD you will need a program called WinAvi. its pretty straight foward to use A new option is just to buy a Kiss DP600 wireless avi dvd player. and stream the media directly from your pc to and TV in your house via wireless network. around $400 for this option but it really really kicks ass. |

I used divXtoDVD to convert avi files to dvd files, then use dvdsanta to burn the dvd files... Both are very quick programs with very good results.
