Night of a Thousand Stevies is the most famous Stevie Nicks fan participation event in the world, and every year it's a riot of spinning shawls and twirling tambourines with Stevie-inspired performances that range from the expected lip-synching to puppet shows and interpretive dance.

The event began sixteen years ago at Jackie 60, the weekly Tuesday night meatpacking district club phenomenon. Over almost two decades, the evening has become a true annual spectacle, attracting performers and Stevie fans from around the world and entertaining the audience with countless interpretations over the six-hour marathon night. Year after year, the show climaxes when the performers and costumed audience members storm the stage for the twirl-off that is the Battle of a Thousand Stevies -- and this year will be no exception.

The theme for number sixteen is a nod to Ms. Nicks's "Red Stevie/Stevie In Wonderland" persona, introduced on her 1989 album The Other Side of the Mirror. NOTS and Jackie 60 founders Chi Chi Valenti and Johnny Dynell received a record number of applications from new performers eager to appear in the show, and did everything they could to accommodate the enthusiastic aspiring Stevies. This year's lineup includes numerous legendary Jackie performers and traveling troubadors as well as an impressive cast of newcomers to the Stevie stage. With thirty acts appearing in three sets, the evening promises to be a non-stop swirl-fest!

As in all past years, emcee duties will be shared by Empress Chi Chi Valenti and co-NOTS producer Hattie Hathaway, who will be dashing downtown from her current gig appearing on Broadway in The Threepenny Opera with Alan Cumming and Cindy Lauper. Other founding members of NOTS gracing the stage include Joey Arias, jetting in from Las Vegas, where he is the emcee of Cirque du Soleil's "O," and hard core Homocore icon and Velvet Mafia frontman Dean Johnson.

Long-standing and legendary Jackie performers include Manhattan drag sensations Sweetie and Sherry Vine, House of Domination divas Jessica Rabbit Domination and Dolly Domination, Cathy Cervenka and Jill Pangelo aka The Ho Hos, Billy O, St. Eve, Jonny Tingle, Jade Barbee, Vulgaras lead singer Velocity Chyaldd, Sister Codie, Purple Gypsy, The Divine Grace, Texxx and Gypsy Wild.

New York Nicks fans will be thrilled to welcome returning out-of-towners: Santa Barbara, California's Belladonna; Las Vegas's Nicole Nicks and Amber Garbo; San Francisco's Manhattan ex-pat Mistress Miwa; Tennessee's Brooke; and The Stevie Nicks Experience from Des Moines, Iowa.


Making their Stevie stage debut are Starless Skye; Toilet Boys lead singer Miss Guy; Jackson, Mississippi's resident drag star Jazmen Flowers; Vangeline Theater of the Butoh dance company; Reno's Charlene Coran; Joe's Pub cabaret crooner Tammy Faye Starlite; and from the weekly Fleetwood Mac tribute night down in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Mirror in the Sky. Your Night of a Thousand Stevies DJs Craig Spencer and Poison Eve return to provide the all-night Stevie/Fleetwood soundtrack, while two new "Stevie Spinners" will debut in The Lounge, including DJ Joel, a longtime NOTS participant who'll be spinning rare nuggets from 9-11.

And for this insane Stevie-stravaganza, the production team even receives star billing. Working to make sure the performers' music is cued up, props are backstage and everyone's baby's breath is balanced, not to mention providing extensive Stevie wrangling, are Vulgaras drummer Goddess Diana, Dany Johnson, Torin and yours truly. That's right, I've been bringing my baby's breath to the green room for almost as long as this show's been running! Join us in the most mind-boggling fan event I've ever witnessed!
