Exclamation World's worst Landslide Cover

Avert your ears, children!

(This doesn't mean I'm letting the Dixie Chicks off the hook)

That's just cruel. I know misery loves company, but shame on you for posting that!

You have to wonder about the kind of person who posts a video of himself on YouTube, and then bitches out anybody who offers any criticism of it.

I'm kind of interested to hear Frusciante's cover now, though.

I think it's a pretty savvy joke, but the punchline is the ubiquitous round of stevie defenders in the comments section. Are those people everywhere with their incessant fingerwagging? These are the sort of folk who would read Ford's "Good Soldier" as a romance novel.

Damn, and that dude actually thought his version was good! He really needs to go on American Idol and let all of America laugh their asses off at him! Besides giving me a really good laugh, he actually made me "appreciate" the Smashing Pumpkins version of the song.

I think I should e-mail and ask him to apply his magic to "Sara" or "Songbird" or possibly even "Never Going Back Again." That would kick ass.

That guy was in the back room at the Viper Room singing this song like crap? Was he smoking janga to think that he actually sounded good? Well, I guess it replaces my hatred for the Dixie Chicks' version.

One honorable mention...Tori Amos did a heartbreaking, gorgeous cover of "Landslide" in concert. It is achingly haunting. Doesn't top the original, nothing ever will, but wow, it's a showstopper.

Her version is what originally turned me onto Stevie in the first place. I was/am a big Tori fan, and the first time I heard it, I thought it was so beautiful that I wanted to hear the original, too. I ended up borrowing a copy of The Dance from a friend and the rest is history!

(Tori does not, unfortunately, do any tambo tosses or spinning twirls, but she can crawl around a piano bench like nobody's business!)
