I agree that he is slime and a scumbag. That's where we part ways. I don't believe there is ever a case for the death penalty, and I don't see how it's even possible to determine what cases should and shouldn't get the death penalty. I think he should be in jail for the rest of his life without possibility of parole. He will suffer more that way and it avoids state-sponsored killing. My 2 cents.

Uhhh...this IS the American death penalty, right? Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't still alive and kicking in ten years.

Gldstwmn, he raped and killed an 11 year old girl. (I think that's who they are talking about here).

Yeah,y you're right. I know that guy Richard Allen Davis that took Polly Klaas right from her home about 10 years ago and murdered her is still around.

Me too, and here's the top reason illustrated by facts on Amnesty International's page:
Since 1973, 122 prisoners have been released in the USA after evidence emerged of their innocence of the crimes for which they were sentenced to death. There were six such cases in 2004 and three up to December 2005. Some prisoners had come close to execution after spending many years under sentence of death. Recurring features in their cases include prosecutorial or police misconduct; the use of unreliable witness testimony, physical evidence, or confessions; and inadequate defence representation. Other US prisoners have gone to their deaths despite serious doubts over their guilt.
