Heart I'm So Excited!!!!!

OMFG... So I just bought myself a really, really expensive (like it's gonna take an entire paycheck and maybe then some) early birthday present.

I just found out a couple of days ago that Walter Egan is doing a show at a club called The Pond in his hometown of Franklin, Tennessee on Saturday, May 6th. I've been dying to see him live for ages now but never had the money for it and never knew about his gigs far enough in advance to make the trip (I live in California).

Since my birthday is on May 9th, it seemed the perfect gift to myself and, well, I did it. I booked the flight, the hotel, and transportation to and from the Nashville airport. I've been having email correspondence with Walter sporadically for a couple of years now, though it has become much more frequent ever since I built the website, and he knows I'm coming and I think he is nearly as excited about meeting me as I am about meeting him.

I think I'm going to have a smile etched on my face for at least the next few months.

Awesome! That's a great B-day present. You'll have to let us know how it goes.

Wow that is great. You know my birthday is May 8th and I don't see a Mac or a Lindsey tour on the horizon. I might be thinking of going to see this show myself.

I'll be flying into Nashville on Friday the 5th; my flight will arrive at 6:30 p.m. I booked my trip through Travelocity.com and made arrangements for a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel and vice versa.

Sadly, my boss isn't keen on giving time off for recreation and I don't get paid vacation, so I'll be flying back home on Sunday the 7th.

That stinks that you don't get vacation time. There is a direct flight from Providence to Nashville on Southwest so I could leave on the Saturday and return on the Sunday if I had to.
How are you getting from Nashville to Franklin to see the show?

I booked a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. As for getting to the actual show and back to the hotel, Walter assures me that he'll take care of that.

Hmm these are the driving directions from Nashville to Franklin.
From Nashville:
Take 21st Ave / Hillsboro Rd South
to Franklin
After Franklin High School,
take a right into Independence Square.
595 Hillsboro Road Suite 321

It does not look that bad but I don't like to drive.
I just wonder how much it would cost for a cab or a car service to and from the club. If it is not that bad and I can get a cheap flight I just might do it.

Well keep me posted, 'cause I'd love to see you there!

Apparently I'm not the only insane Egan fan. There's another lady who regularly drives 10 hours each way to see his shows. I'm hoping she'll be at this one too.

Of course I just checked Southwest and if I leave on the Saturday and come home on the Monday I can get the special rate of $69.00 each way.

I just checked the package deal on Southwest and it came to 488+ without the shuttle.
