Default Deal Or No Deal is back

So after a month or so Hiatus, it's back. Last night was great, this guy won $359,000 and the Donald made an appearance. I LOVE this show! I think Howie Mandel does a good job as the host too.

We've got this show in the UK now hosted by a guy called Noel Edmonds...

He used to be a Radio DJ and then a kids TV host and then an entertainment presenter and now a gameshow host. I guess it's a natural progression...

What's the top prize a contestant can win on the British version?

Very sweet... I wouldn't mind that right now. Nobody ever wins much on our version. Seems fixed to me.

Actually, come to think about it. The UK has given you guys some gameshows lately. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, The Weakest Link (you even got Anne Robinson) and American Idol (or Pop Idol as it's called over here AND you got Simon Cowell too unfortunately!)

Have you got X Factor yet?

I had to go to a taping of this last month, as part of a fundraiser for a group my friend is in. We cracked up every time Howie's PA came out to polish his head between takes.

At the one we saw, the top prize was increased to $2.5 million because the woman had like 7 kids. She also broke the phone used to call the bank

Oooh what's X Factor? I love these kind of shows. We had an Ex Factor edition of Big Brother awhile back, but I don't think that's the same. Did BB originate in the UK as well?

I think Big Brother was a Swedish idea?!?! But I also think the first country to broadcast a version was the UK. It's six series in and it's utter crap now.

"X Factor" is basically very much like American/Pop Idol. It's a panel of three as usual (in the UK show it's Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh) and instead of looking for the best singer they are looking for somebody that can sing but has something extra, that "X" factor. They have three catagories. I think it's something like under 35's, over 35's (anybody upto about 80 can enter) and also groups. It's like American/Pop Idol only with more variety.

Expect it to come over when American Idol has done 3 or 4 seasons and the formula gets tired...

I LOVE this show too! When I was a little girl, I had a massive crush on Howie Mandel.

I would have taken the 172,000 deal tonight. Could you imagine going home with 5 bucks after having a good deal offered to ya?
