Default Birthday Greetings for 2006

Since I totally suck when it comes to posting on birthday threads, I want to wish everybody a happy birthday in advance for 2006. So...

You're another year older. (Well, d'uh!)

You're another year wiser. (Unless you've got Alzheimer's. Then you might not be as wise as you were last year. In any event, you should probably spend less time on the Internet and more time with your family. Of course, not everybody has family, so you should probably spend less time on the Internet and more time with your friends. But then, not everybody has friends. In that case, you should go to the courthouse, change your last name to Rigsby, and...Wait, where was I going with this???)

May your day be bright and cheery. (Unless you're doing hard time. Then may your day be filled with shame and reflection.)

May you enjoy your cake. (That is assuming you're allowed to EAT cake or even LIKE cake. Okay, may you enjoy whatever f*ck it is you like to eat on your birthday. For prison dude, may you not have to toss a salad.)

And, be sure to blow out all the candles. (But, if you're around an arsonist or somebody hooked up to an oxygen tank, you should probably skip the candles. Unless there's an insurance policy involved. But be careful. Just ask prison dude!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Steve, you're not well. So, you're okay in my book. I'm attempting to refrain from any more salad tossing jokes, as I feel that they're distasteful(was that subtle enough?).
Happy Birthday Steve. May the bird of paradise, fly up your nose.

A sick mind is a terrible thing to waste!

I figured I'd get the first tossed salad joke for the year out of the way early, distasteful as they may be.

Wow. A Little Jimmy Dickens quote. Impressed.

WOW. You know Little Jimmy! I've seen LJ quite a few times, at the Grand Old Opry. You know that he hawks "gutter guard" on Nashville's WSM, right? I'd go on now, about my other favorite band, but I know about your admitted prejudice against bands, with numbers in their names. Your loss. They have a new album coming out, any day now(Blob Dylan is done with their instrumental star, for now). It's called, "Dog Days".

Yep. I've seen him on the Opry a few times, but I hear him all the time on this classic country station out of Xenia. You can periodically catch him on RFD TV, if you have satellite. Willie Nelson owns the rights to a lot of those campy 60s Nashville shows (i.e. the Porter Wagoner Show and the Wilburn Bros.), and Little Jimmy would be one of the guests. Now, I've only been to the Opry twice, both before the age of 10! The only names I remember seeing were Grandpa Jones and Dottie West.

I almost went about a month ago, mainly to see Jack "There Goes My Everything" Greene and Marty Stuart (well, to see Clarence White's Telecaster, to be more accurate), but I opted for four days in Windsor to see three hockey games, get a Wings jersey cheap, Pizza Pizza, the "**** burger" from Harveys (two rather large grilled patties, cheese, bacon, lettuce, onion, tomatoe, pickles, relish, hot peppers, mayo, and mustard) with a side of poutine (French fries topped with cheese curds and covered in gravy...good for the heart, eh?), and a Wings game on the way back home.

Didn't know that, though we have Joe Nuxhall hawking those on WLW. Funny thing about WSM. I can get that at night on my shower radio. There are Dayton stations I can't get on my shower radio!

Well, that's actually a rule of a drummer friend of mine, though I generally find that to be a good rule. But, as with any rule, there can be exceptions (just ask Einstein), and THAT band is the big exception to that rule.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Well, thanks Steve. Mine is Jan. 5th. I don't get a cake anymore; I'm past that stage & therefore, I don't have candles to blow out. It would probably set off the smoke alarm in the house anyway. I usually take the day off from work & watch one of my favorite movies, usually it's Dirty Dancing. Sometimes I also watch a DVD concert. (I haven't watched The Dance in a while; it may be that.) Then my hubby & I go on the Saturday closest to my birthday to the King of Prussia Mall in PA where I really go wild shopping, & everything I get is usually on sale.

And Happy Birthday to you Steve, whenever it may be.

Lee

I MUST get back down there before the end of Feb, as I only care to see the Opry at the Ryman(plus, my honky tonks are right around the corner!). I can kill two birds, with one twelve-pack!

That's one of the FEW things I like about winter. I can get WSM nearly every night, after about 9PM. It's a rare night, that I can get it in the summer.

BR5-49 is a FUN band. It's all about having a good time. I can use all of that, that I can get.
EDIT- I always check their site, after I de-Ledge. They're in Dayton, on the 29th(the gig before Indy). I suggest you, and your drummer friend, go, and try to put all this numeric prejudice, behind you....
