Default I think I am about to combust

I have spent the past 2 hours looking for my car keys. I am desperately trying not to lose my mind. My husband came home to help me look for them, but ended up having to take my step-son to school and himself back to work. So I'm sitting here with my head about to explode because I simply cannot find these f*cking keys. I've never had this happen before (to the point where I have been searching this long). My mother is sick and I'm supposed to be picking her up (an hour away).

Thanks, I just needed to vent that.

Good luck, honey. Try not to lose your head in the process. The keys are in the damndest place, and I won't say they're in the last place you look because that's the stupidest saying I've ever heard. Sure they're in the last place you look because once you found 'em, you stop looking for 'em....

This has happened to me MANY times, even as an adult. An unfortunate leftover from ADD, so dont feel bad. Sorry you lost them and had to go through all that bs.

oh my gawd...this is my worst problem and the biggest pain in my ass. I ALWAYS lose my keys. I have found them on the back of the couch, in the car, in my hands, in the freezer, in the bed, and just about every place in between. It is an every morning battle...."wheeerrre did I put those damn keys!?"

btw..how you found them

I looked everywhere last nite for a glove and it was in my coat sleeve, that I was wearing! I lose things all the time. I put up a rack for my keys but they don't make it on there for some reason.

Check weird places like the fridge. Or the door, which I'm sure you did. Fight the delusional thoughts that they've disappeared into thin air. Keep your head! I really hope you've found them. When you do, get a copy made!

Did you find them??

I don't have this problem. Living in a small midwestern town, I'm naive, and think nobody will steal my vehicle or rob my house. I leave my keys in the ignition and don't even lock my doors at home. Stupid, I know.

Thank you so much for all of your kind words. What a DAY yesterday was. I ended up searching for 5 hours. It was awful. I would stop, sit down for a minute to try and not explode, then keep searching.

I never did find them. It's madness- they are *somewhere* at my house! I dug through the trash can (with gloves on- it was gross). I looked in the washer/dryer/fridge/yard- you name it, I looked there, TWICE. To make a VERY long story short, I ended up having to have someone come out to my house and re-program the car computer to give me a new key. It cost $125 which will make me cry if I think too much about it. The only good thing to come out of it was that I never totally lost my cool. If this had been me ten years ago, I probably would have ended up in a straight jacket. I ended up making the drive at 4pm (instead of the planned 8am) to pick up my (sick) mother. I just have to keep telling myself that I was not meant to make the hour+ drive to pick her up that morning.

Now I don't even want to know where the original f*%king keys are- they'd be useless anyway b/c that key would have to be re-programmed. What the hell ever happened to having a normal key without all this high tech crap?

Thanks again for the support- hope everyone has a wonderful holiday- tomorrow is my husband's and my 5th anniversary.

Sometimes they never turn up! About 3 years ago, I lost my "big" set of keys, including work keys. I was planting shrubs around my house, and they were on the tailgate of my truck, NEVER to be seen again. They are somewhere, here!(obviously, they must've gotten buried). I had previously signed a contract at work, that anyone losing their keys, would pay out of pocket, to have the business re-keyed! I begged and pleaded, and finally convinced them that the keys HAD to be buried in my yard somewhere, and they didn't re-key.
