Angry Got dang printers!!!!

I have a HP Photosmart 7760. Got a paper jam an hour ago or so. Now, it says print cartridge cradle is stuck and I've been to the HP site and did exactly as they said to fix it....didn't work. I'm at my wits end with this POS.

Anyone got any ideas? This printer has rarely been used...it's not broken, it's not old, it got a damn paper jam, that's it. Now, it won't do crap.

Yes, I took the jammed paper out. LOL

Hi. I'm not familiar with that printer model. Have you tried taking out the cartridge and putting it back in? Maybe try moving the carriage that the printer cartidge rides on a little too. Sometimes just unplugging it and then plugging it back in will reset it. Ah, technology! Good luck!

Arrow Paleshadow...

Yeah, I've taken out the ink cartridges, unplugged it from the wall and computer, turned the wheels in the back, my fingers are black, I'm over it. LOL I will let my dad try to fix it, he's good with electronics. It's just that neither of my printers are working.

I think they're all junk! My Lexmark will sometimes not immediately print the job. It will just SIT THERE, saying that it's going to print. Maybe 15 minutes later, it'll print it. What the hell is it waiting for(and I'm talking about a single page, not a "book" it needs to process)?
Where's my sledgehammer?

I couldn't agree with you more. They all suck. My Epson has decided to stop printing certain colors despite repeated nozzle checks, head cleaning, new cartidges, blah blah blah. Crap, I say.

My Lexmark quit printing black last month. The printer said the cartridges were fine(over half full), but still the piece of sh*t still wouldn't print. New cartridge fixed it.
Isn't $20 a LOT for a black cartridge?
My newest printer plan is: There seems to be a Black Friday special each year now on Lexmarks. I got one for $28 last year at Wallyhell. I got one for $16.88 this year at Target(although they don't tell you that it only comes with the color cartridge, not the black, so you gotta drop another $20 for the black).
I hate disposing of electronics, that SHOULD have a much longer lifespan. But, if they're going to make crap.....

Anyone ever try re-filling cartridges?

The thing I really liked about the Epson I had before was: I could buy Chinese knockoff ink cartridges off of eBay, for like TWO BUCKS EACH!

The black cartidge for mine (it's an Epson 925 photo printer) is $26! Ridiculous! There's a place that just opened up near me that refills them, supposedly cheaply. I will have to check it out. If not, I'll go for the knockoffs.

Thumbs down Pieces of crap

The thing is, this printer has been used maybe 10 times in about 2 years. My dad got it for me for Christmas in 2003 and we only used it for quality photos. It was working fine, until the paper jammed earlier this morning, then all frick broke loose.

Did the paper rip when you removed it at all? If it did, double check that there isn't a little piece stuck inside somewhere. I've had really good luck with my HP 932C. I mean, it's no frills, and it's kind of old now, but never had any problems. Yes, the ink cartridges are outrageous! In fact, I'm out of color ink right now, but I just can't bring myself to spend over $30 bucks for a new one.

Yes, the inks' prices for Lexmark are ridiculous. And for 20 dollars you don't even buy the big cartridge here. I'm using now the regenerated cartridges on sale in many places and haven't had any problem. Refilling cartridges at home sounds a good solution, but not for me . If I tried rivers of blank ink would invade my desk in an instant, I'm sure...

Arrow Update...

Well, my dad came home, spoke "Thou shalt work right!" unto the heavens or something and BAM, it works fine now. My Epson printer works now too, but took awhile.

My dad rules.
