Run DMC!

[Jyqm]

****. I have no idea. This is really hard. I'll get back to you...

[DavidMn]

I voted for NWA. I'm not a rap guy, but I like the line from that song "Cruisin down the street in my '64."

[SteveMacD]

Beastie Boys. I think they're the only ones of the lot who've been able to sustain their careers beyond five years, at least in terms of the actual music, and were able to incorporate many different elements into what they were doing. I know a few guys from NWA have gone on to be very successful actors, and then there's the Surreal Life, which covers Public Enemy. Run DMC seems too "oldies rap" (if there is such a thing) for my tastes.

[jannieC]

Oh, I love the Beastie Boys. Again, maybe it's an age thing (I'm 37) but I have just loved them from the very beginning. Nothing like a little Brass Monkey, I say.

[Moony]

The Beasties, most definitely.

[DavidMn]

Speaking of NWA, when did Easy E die?

[Red]

Beasties all the way!

1995. But we'll all remember him best for his posthumous appearance in Bone Thugz-n-Harmony's "Crossroads" video the next year. Keep climbin' that hill, Eazy...

I can't believe only one other person is reppin' N.W.A. with me. Y'all are decidedly not straight outta Compton.

Sabotage!

Beastie Boys...Ill Communication, Paul's Boutique and Check Your Head are amazing albums.

Blargh. NWA or Beastie Boys. It came down to a coin toss. Which I actually did. Blargh. But still. Yeah.

[shackin'up]

beasty boys. saw them live once and the energy dripped from the walls.....
