I just got my netflix so there's not much in my queue. Plus, I would just add more when my queue was getting low.
And apparently I'm pretty interested in catching up on cable TV that I missed.

I am not even sure what Netflix is all about. Could someone explain it to me, please?

I almost saw that one at last year's Palm Springs film festival, but it was in the evening & I was tired.

"Fists" & "China Is Near" have been on my list of favorites for several years. Bellocchio is underappreciated & underseen in the United States, even back in the late 1960s when he got good reviews from Pauline Kael, John Simon, Stanley Kauffmann & even Dwight Macdonald.

Add some Harold Lloyd to your queue & you're set! Let me know how you liked "Whale Rider." I thought it was really dull, but many people loved it.

You pay them a fixed amount every month, generally $18 or so, & you go to their Web site & set up a queue for yourself: a list of DVDs you want to see. They send you the first three on your queue by snail mail, which you can keep as long as you want. When you return one, they process it quickly & send you the next DVD in your queue; this continues so that you have three DVDs in your possession at all time, theoretically.

To return the DVD, drop it back in its mailer you got it in, & drop it in a mailbox.

Right now for me he is one of the four best living Italian directors, with Nanni Moretti and Gianni Amelio, Bernardo Bertolucci. For about ten years he seemed lost because he started writing movies with his psychoanalist and everything came out from him was silly and pointless. Then with The Prince of Homburg he returned stronger and more inspired thn ever even if he's now quite different from the man who directed Fists and China is Near. He's less angry but more consistent and provocative. Every movie he did in the last 8 years (The Nanny, My Mother's Smile, Buongiorno, notte) was beautiful and enlightining in some way. I'm very curious to see his new one Il regista di matrimoni (The marriages' director).

fyi i netflix'd at one time...but then i changed to blockbuster.com when the waitlist became longer for movies. I enjoy blockbuster, as for the same price you receive two free in-store rentals per month, as well as a free previously viewed movie per month, and buy one get one free previously viewed movie per month... here is my queue...i dont keep on it like i should but i enjoy the option of obtaining older movies that are not in-store.

The queue is running a little low right now, but here it is. Just returned Mysterious Skin this morning. Pass on that one; it's totally depressing.

And when you fall in love with Firefly and want to marry it, you'll have to let me know!! Did you see Serenity?

I cancelled my Netflix a couple months ago because I was too busy watching all the Buffy crack I'd been borrowing. I still have enough sets borrowed or newly bought that I don't need to be renting anything. I'm currently trying to get through American Gothic, Scrubs Season 2, and Miracles.
