Default Cher

Hands down. That woman *is* my childhood. I told my kindergarten teacher that I met her over the summer and got busted in my lie when my teacher asked my older sister how it was to meet Cher.

I didn't get to see Cher live until a couple of years ago. I wasn't totally impressed with her performance (opening act Cyndi Lauper blew her away actually), but it didn't change my love for her.

Bette Midler is a much better singer but Cher was so unique. Anyway, Cher.

Bette. My grandmother was a huge fan, so I grew up listening to her and seeing her movies. Lots of sentimental attachment to Bette. Plus, I think she's the best live performer of our time & is one of the greatest vocalists of all time. Her talent is quite breathtaking. One of my very favorite artists.

Bette Midler: Amazing actress, fantastic humour and personality, enriched by a voice that brings me very intense emotions.

Ouch, that was a hard one. Bette is magnificent, but so is Tina, and I listen to her music more, so I went with Tina.

Went with Tina because of the Ike & Tina era.. don't care much for her solo work of the latest years.
hey, there's even a mac-connection, with Bonnie Bramlet having been an Ikette.

I went with Turner, 'cause she's the lesser of 3 evils, IMO.

Tina!

(FM connection: Bonnie Bramlett was the only white Ike-ette. They had to make her up to look black.)

Cher. I CANT STAND Tina Turner. I had a chance to see Bette Midler in concert last year, and she was fantastic too.

Tina all the way. Cher can't really sing, and I can't get past the fact that Bette Midler recorded that dreadful song "From a Distance." Did Loretta Lynn write that song?

I hate Bette's version of that, but I love the Byrds version. But, then again, anytime Roger McGuinn, Chris Hillman, and David Crosby get together, I tend to like the results.
