Oh I gotta have the 1st post on this one. QUEEN, hands down. Great musicians. Freddie Mercury was a treasure! They were still releasing superb material even until the end. Too bad Freddie isn't still around.

Purple have been the least consistent of the three for sure (although Sabbath's '80s run of albums is pretty laughable as well), but Made In Japan is right up there with Live At Leeds as one of the best live albums ever, so that's good enough of a reason for me to vote for them.

face offs as of late.
Have to go with Queen, Have yet to hear a single Queen song from their catalog I do not like. Been listening to Queen longer than just about any band I can think of...Hell, My whole family listened to Queen's music so of course I will always be a fan. I'm also a big fan of Black Sabbath, but only without Ozzy on vocals...Give me Ronnie James Dio, Glenn Hughes, Tony Martin & Ray Gillen anyday (Especially Tony Martin, Love that dude's vocal delivery.) Deep Purple is also a band I like for certain era's more than others, Give me Deep Purple Mk.2 (Ian Gillan, Ritchie Blackmore, Roger Glover, Jon Lord & Ian Paice) and the current lineup (Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Don Airey & Steve Morse) and I am happy.

I love all of these bands - Queen and Purple are phenomenal but I have to give it to Sabbath - they really did it for me way back while I was at school and they still do. The Ozzy years were by far my favourite period, but I also like their early 80s albums, even the Ian Gillan one
Tailed off badly after that though ![]() |
