Default Right to Vote? Who knows?

Well I went to vote today against Arnold's ballot propositions, as well as for mayor and other city elections..and come to find out I'M NOT ON THE LIST..So I had to use a provisional ballot. Even though I have a voter reg. card that has my name on it, address, and polling place (yes i went to the right one) I wasnt on the list...so I had to do a provisional ballot, and drop it into a box. They then gave me a "Receipt" with a reference number on it, and I can call in 28 days to see if my vote was Counted, what bull****.

Did you get all the voter pamphlets and sample ballots in the mail prior to this vote? I have been inundated with email, phone calls, and snail mail crap. So I know I am "in the system."

This happened to my daughter last year. Take heart, her vote did count and when we went to vote last week, she was on the books.

I didnt get a ballot, but I got the voter pamphlet....I looked up my polling place online and knew where to go and I went and I told the gals at the polling place that I didnt get a ballot and they told me to call the county clerk. I did get to vote, because my name was on the list....but I think I was lucky because I know one of the gals who works the polls; and you can bet your sweet bippy Im gonna call the stupid County Clerk's office.

They send out the Voter Phamplet and then a Sample Ballot. You need neither of those items when you go in to your polling place.

And Chris...are you a new voter? First time voting in your precinct? If so, probably why they did not have you on their list.

Yeah I got those...And yes I'm a new voter here. I just moved to Calif in July and re-registered here..so yeah I'm sure that had something to do with it.

Yes next year will be a fun election...big Senate and House elections, and lots of gubernatorial races in 06...The big governor races to watch today are NJ and VA...which could go either way

We have the Diebold machines here. So even though I was on the rolls and voted, I'm not convinced that my vote actually counted!
