Default Favorite Magazines...

EVER!

I have to say that one of the best magazines I have ever read was George! Too bad it is now defunct.

I also really enjoy People and Premiere magazines...

What about you guys...

I subscribe to the following...

Architectural Digest
Emmy (pro journal)
Set Decor (pro journal)
Entertainment Weekly
Details
Men's Fitness
Rolling Stone
Dwell
Bird Talk
Los Angeles

I ditch AD every year or so because it gets REALLY boring. How many Cape Cods, Manhattan apartments, and Malibu Moderns does one need to see ? It helps for work, but I prefer Dwell. Rolling Stone frequently annoys me, but when they do a great story, it is really great. I have subscribed since I was 13.
All of these are favorites, as I am still paying for them Never wrote them all down before. It's kind of a lot.

The New Criterion, Roger Kimball's puppy, is my favorite.

Default I'm sure this will be too long

I love looking at magazines but don't read any with any regularity.

In high school I subscribed to Seventeen and YM and all that crap. That's just odd now because I couldn't relate to that crap but I wanted to so much.

I used to subscribe to Poets & Writers and Psychology Today but lost interest.

When I first came out I was obsessed with Advocate, Curve, Out and some of the others but I eventually lost interest in buying gay magazines just for the hell of it.

I'm always interested in seeing what's in Performing Songwriter, though I rarely actually buy it. I love me some Koi World, which is just an annual publication.

I get Consumer Reports. When I was a kid, I used to get a magazine called "Zillions" which was Consumer Reports for Kids. Did anybody else used to get that? It was cool.

I was going to buy a Vanity Fair of off a rack and use the insert to buy a subscription, but Paris Hilton was on the cover. I was not going to have my first issue have her on it.

I have to admit, celibrity gossip is my vice! I live for Fridays when my People magazine arrives! And if it's late, god help my family because I'm unbearable until it arrives! That's the only magazine I currently subscribe to. I don't really have the time for anything more. In the past, I've had the following subscriptions:

US
Parenting
Self
Rolling Stone
Soap Opera Digest (a looong time ago... I'm still embarassed to admit it!)

There may be more, but these are the only ones I can think of right now that I've subscribed to as an adult.

I also occasionally buy Newsweek or Time magazine when I have some additional time on my hands.

i'm a little concerned about what is going to happen now that jane pratt has been pushed out of her EIC position....

The only magazine I subscribe to is Premiere. I also receive some journals from a few communication organizations to which I belong.

I pick up the occasional Newsweek, People, etc, as well.

I read Seventeen and Teen in high schol some. I never subscribed but read my friends' copy; or else bought one at the newsstand. I always thought they were lame, because what they described was nothing like my high school experience. They would say to increase your popularity, be friendly and approachable. At my high school, if one wanted to increase her popularity, she blew the football team.

No one else reads New Yorker? It is, bar none, the best magazine published today. I read it cover to cover - the profiles and news articles are so interesting. Some of my favourite journalists today I discovered through New Yorker. The "Letter from New Orleans" was the best article about what happened during katrina that I read anywhere. It moved me to tears. I read profiles of people I'd normally think, "who?" Or, "why would I care about him/her?" And yet - I do. The short fiction is also always amazing.

Gah! I suscribe to 8 magazines. When I wrote them all down, it does kinda seem like a lot.

Period Living and Traditional Homes
Scottish Life (quarterly)
Time
People
Cosmopolitan
Reader's Digest
Our State
Preservation NC (quarterly)- not so much a magazine as it is a very large newsletter trying to save historic homes. It shows all the old houses in the state that are for sell through Preservation NC. Usually about 30 pages.

I subscribe to The New Yorker and The Nation.

I have a few other magazines that I really like, but I don't subscribe, so I probably read a third of their yearly issues: Harper's, The Sun, BrainChild, Mothering, Bust, No Depression.

I read my first issue of Paste magazine the other day, and I might get it again.
