All right. I'm actually going to try and do this, though I really ought to go to bed. I'll set this parameter for myself, though: one favorite song from every album I own that came out between 1970 and 1979 (omitting Fleetwood Mac). That will leave out a lot of wonderful songs that I just don't own on CD, but, well, this will already be a monster list. Let's get to it:

1970
The Beatles, "Let It Be"
Bob Dylan, "The Man In Me"
Led Zeppelin, "Tangerine"
Joni Mitchell, "Woodstock"
Stephen Stills, "Love the One You're With"
The Who, "Substitute" (live)
Neil Young, "After the Gold Rush"
1971
David Bowie, "Life on Mars?"
Marvin Gaye, "What's Goin' On"
George Harrison, "All Things Must Pass"
Led Zeppelin, "Stairway to Haven"
John Lennon, "Oh Yoko"
Joni Mitchell, "River"
Van Morrisson, "Tupelo Honey"
Lou Reed, "Take a Walk on the Wild Side"
Rolling Stones, "Moonlight Mile"
The Who, "Baba O'Reilly"
1972
Allman Brothers Band, "Blue Sky"
Jackson Browne, "Doctor My Eyes"
David Bowie, "Ziggy Stardust"
Elton John, "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters"
Curtis Mayfield, "Freddie's Dead"
Joni Mitchell, "You Turn Me On, I'm A Radio"
Rolling Stones, "Tumbling Dice"
Stevie Wonder, "Superstition"
Neil Young, "The Needle and the Damage Done"
1973
Allman Brothers Band, "Jessica"
David Bowie, "Let's Spend the Night Together"
Jackson Browne, "These Days"
Marvin Gaye, "Let's Get It On"
Billy Joel, "Captain Jack"
Elton John, "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding"
Led Zeppelin, "Over the Hills and Far Away"
Joni Mitchell, "Car on a Hill"
Gram Parsons, "How Much I Lied"
Pink Floyd, "Time"
Bruce Springsteen, "Blinded by the Light"
Bruce Springsteen, "Incident on 57th Street"
Tom Waits, "Martha"
The Who, "Real Me"
1974
Bob Dylan, "Forever Young"
Bob Dylan, "Shelter from the Storm"
Shuggie Otis, "Sparkle City"
Gram Parsons, "Ooh Las Vegas"
Tom Waits, "San Diego Serenade"
Neil Young, "Revolution Blues"
1975
Bob Dylan, "Hurricane"
Emmylou Harris, "Queen of the Silver Dollar"
Emmylou Harris, "One of These Days"
Led Zeppelin, "House of the Holy"
Willie Nelson, "Hands on the Wheel"
Pink Floyd, "Wish You Were Here"
Bruce Springsteen, "Thunder Road"
Tom Waits, "Eggs and Sausage (In a Cadillac with Susan Michelson)"
Neil Young, "Tonight's the Night"
1976
Billy Joel, "Summer, Highland Falls"
Willie Nelson, "Uncloudy Day"
Tom Waits, "The Piano Has Been Drinking (Not Me)"
1977
David Bowie, "New Career in a New Town"

Elvis Costello, "Alison"
The Jam, "In the Midnight Hour"
Billy Joel, "She's Always a Woman"
Pink Floyd, "Pigs on the Wing"

1978
The Band, "Helpless" (with Neil Young) (live)
Elvis Costello, "(I Don't Want To Go To) Chelsea"

Well, besides Fleetwood Mac, my favorite 70's songs would probably be as follows:

Afternoon Delight
Lonely Boy
Keep It Comin Love
Right Back Where We Started From
Lotta Love

Thanks for the responses Jyqm/DavidM. Looks like no 70's fans. I'd like do a thread on mid-60's to 70's (coz that's when the shiite hit the fan) but I'd be showing my age (guess I just did), and I don't think there'd be much interest in that era either. Oh well..

I'm guessing it might be just the opposite: too much good music in the 70s to be able to pick favorites. I doubt anybody else wants to bother putting together a huge post like mine.

Holy bleeder. I knew you were vastly different from me.

Where are the Fleetwood Mac fans with MY taste in music? Are there any?
