Default My Little Saviour

The Lohan thread inspired me to start this one...I've actually been meaning to start a conversation about this for a few months now, but just never got around to it.

Am I the only one who really likes this song? Granted, Jesse Camp isn't the kind of artist I would have paired Stevie with, and he isn't the most talented that she's worked with...but I think that this is a really sweet song, and I think that Stevie's harmonies are some of the best she's ever done (and the easiest to sing along with).

Also, does anyone know how this came about? I remember reading somewhere that Stevie never met Jesse in the process of making the song and that she recorded her vocals seperately. But how did she get involved in the first place?

And who else is singing backup? It sounds like Lori or Sharon or both...

I like it too...I'm not a fan of Jesse's voice, but there is something about the chorus and Stevie's vocals that is really moving to me. I have to admit I get chills...still.

i posted about this in Ask Sharon a while back. no answer yet. i really like this song. it's simple and altogether lovely. the rest of the album is abysmal.

I like it a lot actually... it's a sweet, folky little song.
Jesse's voice can usually be a bit much to take, though I think he sounds decent enough on this one... but Stevie's harmony vocal is the true highlight.

I have an interview that MTV did with Jesse about the making of the album, and he said that he had asked Rob Cavallo (who produced 'Jesse & The 8th Street Kidz'), "I know you know Stevie Nicks -- do you think there's any way she'd sing on my album?"
And Rob made it happen.

it's cool that he sought her out. i was hoping it wasn't some bizarro record company arrangement. do you have a file to post?

He is truly the definition of a flash in the pan... What ever happened to him?
Oh, and I think the song's pretty good.

I always thought that it was probably a set up deal, because Jesse Camp had won that MTV Talent Search thing. I thought that she probably agree to do it even before she knew who she would be singing with. That MTV had set it up prior. This is just an assumption on my part; I have no information to back up that she pre-planned this duo.
