Thumbs up U2's Vertigo Tour

I'm just curious if any Ledgies have been to see U2 this year. I just saw them last night at the Wachovia Center in Philly. It was my first time seeing them, & I've been a long time fan. It was an incredible show & a sold out show. I actually think it was the best concert that I've seen in my life so far. It was also the first time that I was so high up; our seats (husband's & mine) were three rows from the top! I was kind of scared at first. (I forgot my binoculars & rented one.) But after I sat there a while & just chilled, it was a great view. (I didn't bother with a camera since I was so high up.) I'm so used to being close to the floor or on the floor for a show, you really don't see or feel the full effect of the experience & I was lucky to just get tickets to be there. The lights were awesome; the stage was set up excellent in a circle where the band members can come out & walk around. Two screens were on either side of the stage & a big, long one in front. The crowd was so into it. The crowd stood most of the time in the whole place. I think it was before One when Bono told the crowd that if there was a time to bring out the cell phones, now is the time. It was something to see as it looked like everyone there had a cell phone, a sea of blue lights. And the music was right on. When they first came out & took the stage playing "City of Blinding Lights", the crowd went crazy & it gave me chills. And of course Bono always makes a statement in some of his songs, Sunday Bloody Sunday & Bullet the Blue Sky being a few of them. And near the end, Bruce Springsteen came out & also his wife & sang a little. I could go on & on about the show, but here's a review on u2.com, set list & a pic there as well.

I went to a show on the Elevation tour but never felt like ponying up the money to see them this time around. Bono and Bruce singing "People Get Ready" together must have been incredibly moving. Bruce returning the favor, I suppose, after Bono came out to sing "Because The Night" with him in Miami a few years ago.

I saw them in 2001 in Atlanta on the Elevation tour. It was the best concert I've ever been too.

I have tickets to see them in November. It better be worth it because the ticket prices were obscene.

Yeah I paid $125 to see them on the lower level in Atlanta. It was well worth it. I paid $350 for my front row Fleetwood ticket in Jacksonville and I dont regret that at all. I probably would never pay that again for any show, but I dont regret it.

Good god, why? Was general admission sold out? I went to the Elevation tour for $45, I think, and grabbed a spot right near the tip of the heart, where Bono spent a good half of the show.

GA tickets sell out instantly. Especially for the Elevation tour, where it was a huge deal that they were doing what they did with the floor.

I saw them twice earlier this year at the United Center, and twice on the Elevation tour. It was magnificent. I don't care how pompous they get- there is NOTHING like seeing them sing something like Bad or Where the Streets Have No Name in an arena. Makes me want to nonsensically spout phrases like "the majesty of rock!"

Meredith! It's Michelle, from Mick's board! We're going to see them at the Bobcats Arena, too! I cannot wait. We got GA tickets during the general public sale. I was shocked. Hope to see you there.
