Thumbs up Guitarists unite!

Hey guys...I think most of you know that I live in Florida. Quite a bit of my stuff got destroyed during last years onslaught of the 4 hurricanes that hit us. I just went out today and bought a new tube amp (Fender Hot Rod Deluxe) and three new BOSS pedals, which were the ones I used to have...the SD1 (overdrive), the DD3 (delay), and CH-1(chorus).

For last few years I've been playing Les Pauls, but I also really enjoy the Godin LG models that I've been seeing recently. Very nice, moderately priced axes.

Anyways...i guess the whole point of the post is, for those of you that play instruments, what type of gear/effects do you have?

Look at how popular this thread is!

I don't have much in the way of gear left. In fact, practically nothing: I have a Korg SP-200 (which sort of sucks) & a Nord Electro v2 (which is ultra cool). That's actually all I have left from older times, when I had a Korg X5, two Yamaha CP-30s, a Roland VK-7, a Yamaha P80, a Voce half-rack module, a Roland KC-500 amp & a little Peavey practice amp. That's all gone now, & I'm sad but not blue.

I'm thinking of buying a used Korg X5DR on eBay -- I could really use the strings & the synth, & I'm already familiar with the patch panel because I had the X5.

If I told you what I gave for it(the fretless), you'd crap!(get to the bathroom).
One of the bands I used to do sound for needed a rackmount compressor(for their own PA). I had a Yamaha stereo compressor lying around, that I think I gave $100 for. The bass player said, "I'll trade you this Fender fretless for it!"
Uhhhhh, OKAY! So I got it for an old $100 piece of gear I wasn't even using! And it's perfect. No scratches or anything. Gun metal grey.
A fool and his bass are soon parted.

wow...unbelievable....I had a 1998 Fender Fat Tele that was custom made. it had a cream/antique white finish. It had a Black pearloid pickguard custom cut for the humbucker in the neck position. Rosewood fretboard with the "V" neck. I mean, I knew one of the guys at Fender at the time. I paid, no kidding, only $1300 for it. I sold it back in 2002 for $700...i let myself get raped on that one! I mean, that instrument today is probably worth 2 G's easy...it was before they started doing that new american standard crap. Ah well...From now on I dont sell any of my gear lest I should have a broken heart later.

I've only parted with one really nice instrument, and that's because I was afraid it was hot! Most of the vintage instruments have gone way up from what I paid(except for the ES-135, I paid too much ). I paid $800 for that National dobro. Gruhn Guitar in Nashville had an identical one for $2500! The Buck Owens Tele was only like $750. I'm not sure how much his engraving it has made it worth. I've got a letter from him, too, for authenticity. But he engraved my name on it, too. That probably doesn't help the value....

My dream would be a Turner, but I just can't seem to justify parting with all that money. Sooooo much money.

Yeah I've come close to buying the Turner One...you know, I actually have the money to get it now, but I cant justify it either. Especially since I'm not in a band anymore, it would only be for my enjoyment here at home. But then again, I'm afraid I'd set it in the corner and would be afraid to touch it. One of these days if I ever get in a with a good group again, I'd probably spend the dough on it.

No comment. Rejoining all you guitarists very soon. I have a dream: a model 1. period.

I just "borrowed" a Sony Cybershot MPEGmovie cam and recorded myself playing the entire guitar solo to the live version of "Come." One of the girls here on the Ledge (who shall remain nameless...!) requested it.

Problem #1...I cant save the file to my computer because I dont have the USB drivers for it, and I cant seem to find it online.
