Default GYPSY demo Mp3

This is the Gypsy demo I was talking about with the Lindsey backing vocals.

This doesn't start until 25 seconds in..

This is really cool....I love to hear them working the song out while they're running through it. That's the thing I like about demos and outtakes so much...the insight into the process. Thanks, again!

Now, if we just could get Stevie to understand that!

Thanks so much for posting these. This version has more of sense of sadness. It must be because of the simplicity of it. Thanks!

I know it....there is a slight guilt-factor there, b/c I know how she feels about it. I just think she wants to give us the best, most complete, whatever...but we LOVE every little nuance and grunt...she probably just can't believe that!

Most of the demos of Gypsy aren't very good but I do love this one. It's cool hearing them work through the song and I like Lindsey's backing vocals.

I love this. What really stands out on this, to me, is how good Stevie and Lindsey's voices are together. They sound so amazing. Thanks so much for sharing this!

I will never forget you playing this for me in Madison as we were leaving Best Buy or Circuit City buying that camera - my jaw was on the floor at the sound of it. Then, FF to the Stang convt. in Detroit and we were belting it withy the top down on the way to the concert after a day a fabulous shopping

My fav. is when LB holds the "AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" for song long

If I'm not mistaken, this isn't a demo, it's from the Mirage tour rehearsals (at least that's how it was labeled when I got way back when). It was on an old cassette that someone had and converted two or three years ago. The same cassette also had Sara and Joan of Arc, amongst other things.

Perhpas true - but why wpuld she say she needed to hear more of what LB was doing - which hints that she was at the mic with the headphones on and they needed to elevate the level of his prerecorded vocal. If she were on stage, she seemingly could hear him and did not use an IED then.

As an aside, LB's quick Bow Bow Bow Bow Bow's went from a vocal to a guitar riff - which is very cool.

It could be one or the other, David would most likely know.

I would LOVE for them to have done it like that on stage

Lindsey's really showing some Beach Boys love here! I am with Stevie: I wanted to hear more Lindsey too.
Thanks for posting this, I also really enjoy hearing the songwriting and producing process in all of these earlier versions of songs.

I enjoyed that part of the Rumours classic albums Doc, where they broke down parts of songs and talked about decisions for mixing. It would be cool to hear Stevie play parts of demos, and then talk abuot choices she made in completing a song.
