Default My Super Sweet Sixteen

I? Hate this show. Hate it. It makes me physically sick to my stomach that these selfish kids have parties larger than most people's weddings and they feel that they deserve it.

I find it depressing that there is so much suffering and pain going on in the world, but their parents feel that spending tens of thousands of dollars on a party (a PARTY!) for their teenager is fine & dandy. And how noble to have it documented for all to see.

I usually change the channel immediately so I don't vomit, but the other day one episode confused me & I had to watch for a bit. This boy was turning 16 & his parents were renting out the local mall & hiring designers to dress his friends up for a fashion show. His name was Bjorn.

They pronounce it Buh-Jorn.

So, does anyone like this show?

I love you more for hating this show. It really is awful. They bitch about their dress, about their friends, the venue, etc, etc. I did watch once but I won't make that mistake again. This one girl was all happy because she got to kick people out that weren't invited. I forget who they were but they were famous and she made them leave. I mean, I understand you don't want uninvited people at your party but to take such glee in it was not pretty.

Her party was at some hip club or something that her mother had rented out for her. She was pouty and bitchy about every little thing until she arrived at her party and got all the attention she wanted. Then she was happy. Well, my sixteenth was my ****tiest birthday ever. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with a lavish party if you have the money. It just makes me ill how much these kids expect it and don't appreciate it. Have their parents taught them anything?

This show makes me physically sick too. I hate it with an extreme passion. I would probably severely hurt the kids on those shows if I ever met any of them.

Well, thats the key, I'm sure. The parents are dim bulbs who spoil their kids. And as a result, the kids come out as stupid as the parents.

Thumbs down Ugh

Yes, I've watched this POS show. I think a lot of parents with money try to give their kids these parties and stuff because they don't spend enough time with them. Guilt is a powerful thing. Sad, really.

I didn't have a sweet sixteen *gags on own vomit* party or anything. I remember going to Glamour Shots, with my mom, aunt and uncle though. My aunt paid for it and an 8x10 for my birthday. I was horrified as I hated makeup (still do. LOL) and all that crap in my hair.

I'm such a tomboy.

I saw the Bjorn episode the other day. What an idiot.

Also saw the one with that little b!tch Sophie who threw the Moulin Rouge themed party. Every time she opened her mouth I wanted to put my foot in it. Especially when she'd yell at her mom who was spending a gajillion dollars on her stupid party!

I have never seen the show and from the sound of it I don;t want to. I had a surprise sweet 16/confirmation party at my Grandmother's house. How is that for being cool?

omg, i so agree~ even the episode where 1 of the girls having the party started out kinda sweet, she was in foster care for 8 yrs & was adopted at 15 by a wealthy family, so i was thinking well maybe this episode will break the myth that all the kids are beyond spoiled~ but it was sad to say she wasn't any better, she was awful, her new family gave her BMW convertible for her party, she was quite ungrateful & just plain mean~

I kinda love this show...but only because it gives me a reason to hate people :-)

What about that spoiled bitch who flew to Paris for her dress, then threw a fit because she didn't know that most places in France close in August. Then she accused her parents of ruining her birthday because they wouldn't give her her Range Rover ON her birthday, as punishment for going off and using their credit card without their permission.

i think it might have been the 1st episode they aired of the show, but 2 best girl friends had their party together~ yes they were spoiled like the rest of them~ the one thing i did like tho, they charged $10 a head & then gave 100% of the proceeds to breast cancer~ i have only seen 2 guys do the show, 1 had his party in a mall, like he was the fashion queen of the world, i wanted to strangle that kid & the other, i felt bad for that boy, you could tell his poor balding paunchy middle-aged father was living vicariously thru him, trying to be sooooo cool~ the dad was the 1 stomping off having temper tantrums, it was quite disturbing how the father acted in that 1~
