Default Ever seen (or heard) a Ghost?

There's been some rumors flying around the hospital where I work about some ghost sightings near the cafeteria (which is next door to the morgue, conveniently). They have been seen on night shifts and in the early morning hours. Although I've been keeping my eye out, I haven't seen any myself yet. A friend of mine who works next door to the morgue has seen the morgue door-handle shaking in the early morning, when no one is in there yet. Various employees have seen images of people standing in an area, but then disappear the next second. Another thing that's been happening to people is the feeling that someone is right behind them while they are walking, but when they turn around no one is there. Has anyone had any creepy ghost tales they'd like to share?

Is the pill room near the morgue too? Geez...why do all these weird things happen in the late hours? Perhaps sleep deprivation and eating one too many pizza slices late in the night cause vivid hallucinations.

Hocus pocus.

i think there's a ghost in my house. there is a room upstairs that i can never go into- it spooks me too much- i get such a bad vibe in there... and a couple times a week i hear what sounds like footsteps on carpet (you know that soft muffled sound?) right around the corner outside my bedroom and i see shadows move on the wall outside my bedroom door where the noise is coming from... and right around the times that i have heard this footstep thing, things start falling off of the ledge in the shower, or my electric toothbrush will randomly fall in the sink and make a bunch of noise... the other day, it sounded like someone picked up the shampoo bottle and threw it at the wall and fell into the tub and made a loud plastic bottle bouncing around noise. i know no one in the house is messing with me because i lock the entrance to this part of the house before i go to sleep so none of my roommates or their drunk friends can come and bug me at 3 am. if there is some sort of entity messing with me- i don't get the feeling that it is evil- it just seems playful... so even though ghost stories and scary movies freak me out, i really don't get spooked by these noises.

no, i'm not drunk or high.

Jessica --- a cool experiment to try to see if your house is really haunted: buy a throw away Kodak camera and take pictures of the room or areas of the home you think may be haunted. If you see "spirit orbs" in the photos then you very well could have a spirit living in your home. Why buy a throw away camera? The reason for this is, if you use a regular camera that you have left lying around, it may have dust on the lens, which leads to skepticism as to the authenticity of your spirit photos.

Below is a photo I lifted off the web showing an example of a spirit orb, or in this case MANY spirit orbs!):

I haven't SEEN a ghost, but I've felt the presence of a couple of them.

1) The house we rent was owned by a lady who died of cancer IN THE HOUSE (quite a few years ago). Sometimes, when I'm at the computer late at night, I hear footsteps down the hall (scuffing on the carpet runner). I go see if it is my wife Susan getting up to go into the kitchen. When I get to the hallway, there's no one there, no one in the kitchen, and I check in the bedroom and my wife is sound asleep. The first 10 times, it would kind of weird me out, but after three years in the house, I'm used to it. Plus, when I go out in the hall, I'll feel cold spots. Plus, there was a span of about a week or so when items such as cereal boxes, shampoo bottles, etc would be in places where they shouldn't be...like cereal box in the freezer, or shampoo bottle in a KITCHEN cupboard. Just eerie **** like that.

2) After Rudy (the Rotweiller in my avatar) passed away, both my wife & I could feel his presence...even after we moved. I'd be sitting on the sofa with my arm hanging off the side and I'd feel him brush past my hand (like he used to do). And, again late at night while at the computer, I'd hear the jingle of his chain collar and the scuffing of his toenails on the carpet (he had a distinct sound when he'd walk). Since Daisy (my mother-in-law's Beagle) has come to live with us (just the dog, not the mother-in-law, too), I haven't felt Rudy's presence as much, but every once in a while, I'll still feel him brush past my hand...when I look down, nothing there, thinking it might've been Daisy instead, but then Daisy will walk into the room from a different direction.

Yes, after my partner died, I had several visitations. Completely changed my view of the world and afterlife. Most people will think it was just my mind playing tricks during grief, but I'm convinced about my experiences.

Every claims the restaurant where I used to work is haunted. The owner has an apartment upstairs, and I've heard strange stories of things banging around up there. But, if you ask any of the family friends/cooks that have worked there for 20 some years, they all have stories to tell. They say things general happen in the early morning hours, after the bar closes, and there's only 1 or 2 people finishing up. They'll hear doors swing open, and slam shut, but when they look, the doors are still locked. They've closed the kitchen, gone to finish in the bar, and gone back thru the kitchen to find every burning and oven on fullforce. The strangest one is when lori said she was there one night, finishing in the bar, when she heard crashes in the kitchen....went back to find pots and pans on the other side of the huge kitchen, as if they had been thrown across it.

I have a native american friend who swears she pulls ghosts out of the wood work. One story that I remember best is when she was telling me about stopping by to visit her mother, but her mother wasn't home. She was hungry, so she had a bowl of cereal, while waiting for her mother. Well, when she grabbed a bowl, she dropped it and it broke. She cleaned it up, got a different bowl, had her cereal, and left. Her mom called her later to ask if she had been at the house. Apparently, upon arriving home, her mom found every bowl and plate that had been in the cabinets - -sitting on the counter top. Rebecca said it was a very old house, the former owner was an elderly woman that had passed away in it, and when her mom bought the house, there were still some dished from the previous owner. So, my friend figured the dish she broke must have belonged to the old owner! Maybe she was mad that it broke!

Whoa Brooke- Those are good ones too! I took some photos with my cell today (since I'm waiting to get a disposable camera) in the "haunted" hall near the morgue. Of the 9 or so pics I took, one of them does have what appears to be a "spirit orb". It shows up on one of the photos taken near the morgue door. I really need to do it with the other camera though - to get the real deal. I plan on doing it this week, so I'll let you guys know.
