I know there are some of good ones out there but for me the absolute top of the list is Keep It Comin Love by KC and The Sunshine Band. Thoughts?

I hate disco.
Anything with a pulsating beat works my nerves. |

"Best Disco Song" isn't that an oxymoron?
"Miss You"--The Rolling Stones "Here Comes The Night (1978)"---The Beach Boys "Do You Think I'm Sexy?"---Rod Stewart "Get Down Tonight"---KC & The Sunshine Band "Bad Girls"---Donna Summer

I always liked dancing to Funk more than Disco: Ohio Players, Parliament, etc.
I like Sylvester's "You make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" but that might be because I have heard it on so many documentaires of San Francisco in the 70's, and now it has added poignancy. I also always liked the chorus on Cheryl Lynn's "Got To be Real" And I love the vocals on Thelma Houstons "Don't Leave Me This Way" When most of this music was happening, I was surrounded by a solid rock community, dudes with shaggy Van halen haircuts, and muscle cars with "Disco Sucks" on their bumpers. But I don't have any rules for what I like, and I have always kind of listened to everything. I can get behind anything catchy for a while, anything with a good melody and I liked some disco songs on the sly. I have a great memory being 13 and sneaking (well, they didn't even card us) into Dillons of Westwood in 1978, with a friend of mine. We just wanted to see what a disco looked like. We rode up in a gold elevator that opened into the center of the dance floor, "Ring My Bell" was playing and some guy in white and blue satin suit (shirt open to the waist) with a Leo Sayer fro, came over did the splits in front of me,and tried to get me to dance. We left, and the next weekend were at a punk swapmeet, buying bootlegs of Fear and the Circle Jerks.

"You Make Lovin' Fun"
![]() My faves: "Greatest Hits Medley" - Donna Summer - 26 minutes, everything from LTLYB to the Bad Girls album "Baby I'm Burnin" - Dolly Parton "Ring My Bell" - Anita Ward Anything by Chic or KC Least fave (as in, I'll be perfectly happy if I never hear it again - EVER): "I Will Survive" - Gloria Gaynor And one last fave - only heard it once in a club - but it caused the crowd to emit a very loud and shocked gasp, start slow dancing and makin' out, and then shake it like you wouldn't believe: "Whenever I Call You Friend" - Kenny Loggins & Stevie Nicks |
