Default Tim Wakefield

My man tim just got his 15th win of the season the other day, and He goes so unnoticed by alot of people. This guy has given over 10 years or service now to my beloved Red Sox, and he has always done whatever has been asked of him. Bullpen, Start, whatever. This guy is a true team guy, and he's been my favorite Red Sox Player since 1995, when he first got on the team. I know he gave up the home run to Aaron(F*&^%ng) Boone to lose the ALCS in '03, but then he comes back in game 3 in '04 when his team is getting their asses handed to them and volunteers to take whatever beating is nessecary to help the team. I'm positive that's something the Sox fed off of as the series went on. Thanks Tim, for all the things you've done for the Sox over the years.!!! BTW, GO SOx this weekend at New York, Man I wish I could be there!!

Default Maybe we need a baseball forum here on The Ledge...

Anyways - Yes, Wakefield has been a horse for the Red Sox this year. I don't think they'd be where they are now if not for him. Having said that, I still think he's overrated. He just happens to always pitch well against the Yankees. The AL Central certainly has his number.

It's all good. As long as we beat you guys in the ALCS again this year, I'm happy. See the thing is for me, I know the Red Sox will never catch the Yankees in Championships in my lifetime, so what happened last year is enough for me. There's no sense in rubbing it in. Yankee fans know what happened.

Let's get thru this weekend first.

Yes, last year was unholy, but that was then, this is now. I just hope there IS an ALCS for the Yanks.

Plz, he doesn't hate them. And they don't hate him. I think this whole rivalry is a lot more for the fans. The players don't buy into it as much.

And anyways, I thought the Sox were the self-proclaimed idiots?

No, he called the team a bunch of idiots last year, and credited their winning ways to that.
