Default Bush nominates Roberts as chief justice

http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/09/...ion/index.html

I had a feeling he would do this. If he were to elevate Scalia or Thomas, the Senate would have had three confirmations to deal with in a very very short period of time.

True, but I bet that doesn't make Scalia any less pissed.

I was thinking about that. Talk about a come-uppance.

Still, wasn't one of the big hurdles for Roberts that he doesn't have much experience behind the bench? If I'm remembering that correctly, why in the hell should he be chief justice?

Actually most of the CJ's have not served on the SCOTUS. Earl Warren was governor of California when he was appointed by Eishenhower. Warren Burger wasn't on the SC when he was appointed either.

You just know that Scalia will release his tension by partaking in an orgy.
