Default Name That Tune

Have you ever known parts of a song & really liked them but have no clue who sings it or what the title is? I do this all the time. Please help if you can.

"We were born before the wind (or is it moon?), also younger than the sun..."

I think this is Van Morrison, not sure, and I've no clue what the name of this tune is. Anyone, anyone?

And is the George Harrison song that goes "What is my life, without ya (???), tell me who am I, without you, by my side" simply called "What Is My Life?"

Feel free to ask someone to help you with a song dilemma in this thread.

That happened to me this morning with this song:

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away

We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, now, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

I knew it was Stephen Stills but couldn't remember the name of the song. It's called For What It's Worth and it's by Buffalo Springfield.

I had to Google this one but it appears to be a Van Morrison song called Into The Mystic.

Wow - that song has always been part of my consciousness, but I never knew what it was called or who did it - strange.

Into the Mystic -- I love that song! I used to have a few Van Morrison albums on tape... I've been meaning to get some of his CD's, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

One of my favorite songs ever.

Into The Mystic

We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic
Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic

And when that fog horn blows I will be coming home
And when that fog horn blows I want to hear it
I don’t have to fear it
I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
Then magnificently we will float into the mystic
And when that fog horn blows you know I will be coming home
And when thst fog horn whistle blows I got to hear it
I don’t have to fear it
I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And together we will float into the mystic
Come on girl...

Thanks, you guys! I suppose I could have just Googled it, but that would have been much too easy.

I've loved it ever since I heard it in the movie "Immediate Family" with Glenn Close & Mary Stuart Masterson.

No one else has a song they need help with? Just me? Great, everyone probably Googled theirs & now I look like an ass. Is ass OK to say? Or should I type a**?

Yep, Buffalo Springfield's biggest hit. You can bet that song was on Lindsey & Stevie's turntable back then!
