Sorry - - - Phone. Talk amongst yourselves.
I'll give you a topic: 70's style "Rhiannon" vs. current "Rhiannon," as performed by Stevie onstage - which is better??? "I read the name of it in a . . . just a novel. Realized it, thought, 'That's a really beautiful name;' sat down, about ten minutes later, wrote, 'Rhiannon!' We think . . . she was a goddess Queen . . . and that her memory became the myth . . . I definitely feel that there's a Presence!" Yeah uhhhmmm . . . OH-kay! Luke: "I'm not afraid!" Yoda: "You WILL be! . . ." |

Old old old old old. THe new ones do not even compare IMO. I LOVE 70's Rhiannons, now I can take them or leave them. Preferably would leave them for a different song she never does.

Although it is easier to understand all the words in the current performances - NOTHING tops the performances from the 70's. Part of me went to those shows just to see Rhiannon.

Oh 70's Rhiannon hands down, there has never been anything like those and there never will be again. In the words of Mick Fleetwood, "Rhiannon those days was like an exorcism"

70's all the way. Just much more youthful, raw and wild energy going on. It helped solidify her place in Rock N Roll.
Just electric. The new ones are sung too wise and tame for the most part...but still likeable. |

OLD. Without a doubt.

My fav. Rhiannon ever is the piano intro version on the Bella Donna tour. I am not too into the fast part, but the slow part is sublime.

The old ones, definitely. I hate any live "Rhiannon" after 1983, though some of the RAL era ones are interesting.
The best years for it were '75 - '80 though, imo.

That one from the old TV show in particular. Ummm, the 1976 show. Gawd, why am I having a mind blank right now? Tired that's why. Anyway, I love the old way she'd do "All the same, all the same" etc over and over. Just so much more fire in the old versions vs. today.
I would choose any new version in concert though over the initial recorded 1975 version. |

Love them all, but think that the 70's one is the absolute best. She put so much energy into it she looked like she needed to be carried off stage!

I think just about everyone agrees that the old Rhiannon versions are way better than the new ones. I love the versions from the 70's that just rock although the piano intro is pretty too.
