Thumbs up Depeche Mode's Playing The Angel

are there any Depeche Mode fans around here?
i REALLY like Precious, but a little afraid about the entire album, because this time Dave's gonna be a co-writer, which is not very promising (to say the least). anyway, at this point i'll have ANY DM record, it's been a loooooong wait.
if everything goes according to plan, i'll catch them in Prague while their european tour. is there anyone else here who's going to see them this tour?

Everytime I start a Depeche Mode thread, it totally vanishes. Not many fans here!

I am a fan and I think Precious is ok. It's not heart stopping but it's a good song, VERY DM.

I loved David's solo album actually, some great stuff. Got to see him live for that tour, he's a great performer!

So I am really excited for this new album. They are coming to NY in the fall and I am so seeing them! I can't wait.

come on janet, be serious... you can't compare dave's songs with nartin's. they're not pathetic, but sure can't compete with a genius'. you are goddamn lucky to have them so close to home, they never performed in this neck of the woods, despite a HUGE following. you can actually buy here a DM tourist pack whenever they're "around". i was THIS close to seeing them in greece the last time, i can't even remember why it didn't work out. i'm not missing them this time, all i gotta do now is balance my bank account and i'm there.

"Knocking on Death's Door" has interesting instrumentation & a pleasurable chord progression.

I know they are doing many overseas dates next year, so that is really good for you.

I know you can't compare David to Martin but he's not bad. I guess I just am into David because even tho Martin could also be the better singer, David has something about his presense and his voice that just gets inside of me more than Martin.

I'm just excited!
Good luck seeing them!!

Which is the better keyboardist, Janet? That should cinch the decision.

I agree, everything I like in Depeche Mode comes from Martin Gore.
