I have met Shirley Manson.

I noticed that several of you mentioned your love of GARBAGE in the favorite band post... So I thought I'd tell my little story here...

When I was 16 I totally wanted to be Shirley Manson when I grew up... Seriously... She was the ultimate rocker chick to me at that point in time... it's cool how my tastes in music have evovled since then.. i've regressed into nothing but classic rock... don't get me wrong, i still love garbage, always will along with other bands from that time.. but with jazz and blues and all classic rock, i've found the music i was meant for..ya dig?

moving on.. sorry i do tend to babble... When Garbage toured for their Version 2.0 album I went to about 3 shows I think.. anywho..I met this guy at the venue in Dallas who was selling me and my sister some extra tickets... he was like 'oh yeah, here ya go.'.. and he handed me a meet and greet pass.. talk about pissin some pants man... sheesh... i was scared! cause it was unexpected and i wasn't prepared.. anywho.. they usher us in this big room and line us around the wall.. and the band came in and talked to up one by one for HOURS! seriously.. they are the ultimate! The boys in the band were all lovey dovey to me.. sweet as pie... i was by far the youngest there and they acknowledged that so sweetly.. Then here comes Shirley in all of her Scottish glory.. love her! She's really tall for those of you who are curious.. she walked up to me and shook my hand and all i could say was 'aww man i think i'm gonna cry.' she cracked up and gave me a big ass hug.. and then just talked with me for the longest.. so sweet.. kept complimenting my jewelry.. i was like take it if you want it! i was giddy..
ok.. then some guy came in and anounced that they had to go catch a plane asap.. and shirley explained that they were flying to new york to film saturday night live and that she was totalyy nerve racked... she hugged me goodbye and was walking off and i was like WAIT! will you sign my forehead!? ...hahah... (i always joked at school that if i ever met her i would get her to sign my forehead..)...well i asked her.. she got a kick out of it and called me crazy.. signed my forehead and poked me in the eye while she did it! and then kissed me eye!! aaaaaw!
then they left..
the next day was a friday.. and i totally washed my face from the forehead down.... and wore her signature to school the next day!! AND i was a cheerleader AND i wore that damned autograph all through friday nights game!! haha! got demerits and everything!
so anywho... I'm stuck at my parents all day with nothing but free time, so I thought I would tell you all about my story.. I haven't thought about that experiece in a long time... it felt good to recount it!

Great story Shirley sounds very cool indeed.
I think I've seen Garbage live three times over the years, and she's always bee incredible on stage. Nice to hear she's lovely off stage too.

What a cool experience! I am in love with Shirley, she's so beautiful and talented. Your story on meeting her and the boys was really great.
